Hi Guys,

Thankyou for the messages of support, they were most appreciated, all the nitty gritty is squared away, just the funeral to take place next week.

Just thought I'd mention a couple of things which even though the circumstances are very sad, me, HID and my dad still found funny.

On the day my mam died, the nurse came in to check and she needed a time, so she took her phone out, looked at it but the battery was flat and not realising what she said, she looked at me straight faced, motioned towards her phone and said "It's dead as well".

The second, after the funeral director had left yesterday, we were looking at the various charges and one that stood out was the price for the cremetion costs....£666

It's strange how in the most emotionally trying of circumstances we as human beings still find humour in the strangest of places I guess it's just our way of coping, well it's certainly mine and my dads.

Jeepers i musta missed this one mate , my sincerest apologies for missing it & my condolonces for your loss ..

People always find a way to cope with things & in many different ways aswell , guess thats what makes us human ..

R.I.P.

I missed it too so many condolences to you and your family. David's mum passed away 2 weeks ago and the funeral is on the 25th...

When my Dad passed away we took his ashes to Germany to reunite him with my Mum who was buried there. It was the family trip of a lifetime and we laughed so much we cried and then cried anyway. I always figured my Dad would have his blue eyes twinkling and a big smile watching us as a family celebrating his life.

It's a natural thing... you just happen to notice stuff that you never really would before..... just like when your girlfriend dumps you and suddenly every song is specifically written about you and your set of circumstances.

I know what you mean Dave. When the funeral director came round to discuss things like what type of coffin, we asked for one with patio doors and chintz curtains. We also asked for bingo cards for during the service... family humour and 'in' jokes are perverse at times but hey, it at least helps a little.

See you at Slaley?

Dave, sorry to hear of your Sad News, I too missed original post as I aint been on this week, due to Nightshift, but Ive just read it and caught up

Take Care , and as Hobbit says, hopefully we see u on the course soon

Lost my mum last September after a tough 2012 as she battled the final phases of her cancer. The pain does ease with time but now both parents have gone there is a massive void especially when I need someone to ask advice of. Hope the same applies and you can find the strength to move on

Sorry to hear about your loss and sorry to miss it first time round.

You're right about the humour - two of the funniest days I've ever had were at the funerals of my grannies, because there was much more good to remember than bad. Hope you can keep finding reasons to smile.
