They absolutely do. They certainly don't define capitalism.
Just because it's not Capitalism doesn't mean it's Socialism!
... but suffice to say there are plenty of well off and less well off people that don't pay their proper rate of tax and evade tax....
Tax evasion is illegal! Tax avoidance is legal! Massive difference!

In a slightly more perfect world, it would be nice if the guys moderating the forum were more, how can I put it, moderate. Yep, that's the word I am looking for. Moderate.

China is a communist regime, so what it may be doing (or, indeed, US propaganda claims it is doing) is irrelevant top a discussion about Socialism!

BOOOM.........nail on head........''slow clap''

The UN have found 37+ countries in favour of what China are doing. Against the 22 countries (funnily enough countries that are loyal dogs to the US).
Most of the 37+ are mainly Muslim countries...Go figure!

Or a little statement from the World Bank
Word Bank.png

It's no secret, China does invite diplomats from other countries to come see for themselves (especially the US, but they refuse.....why would that be?)

Screenshot (7).png
:LOL: Exactly what China is doing..........But in the western world its called ''re-education and ''rehabilitation''......China= concentration camp

Considering the NHS is one of the finest things about this country and is respected the world over one could easily make the case for the fact that socialism is one of the greatest things to have ever happened to this country.
If that's truly the case, that sets a very low bar!
NHS certainly doesn't = Socialism!

Not so massive a difference.

A lot of avoidance becomes a grey area and difficult to prove. For example, making your spouse a director of your company and paying them a salary of £10,000.

Perfectly legal and all declared through PAYE or Self Assessment, and probably saving around £4,000 in tax, as long as she is actually working but clearly almost impossible to prove if she isn't.

Whereas a tradesmen taking £500 cash for a job and not declaring it, definitely illegal, but again, almost impossible to prove.

And that's just the simple ones, before you get into the scenario of Costa registering a company in the Carribbean and selling the branding rights to Costa UK for millions, in order to show very few profits in the UK operation.

Don't need to make spouse a Director - simply a shareholder and pay a dividend. No 'moral' issue there. Plenty of other 'tax saving benefits' available also - though with certain constraints involved too. And they are even recognised and approved of by HMRC!

Utter Twaddle!
The fact that they had the word 'Socialist' (or even 'Worker'!) in their name was nothing but a disguise for their Fascism - in itself, a corruption of fasces (togetherness - of sticks)

Indeed, and the word socialist was used to attract the working class attracted to communism at the time. Identifying the Nazis as socialist confirms a diagnosis of a fundamentalist right winger with an irrational hatred and an utter lack of understanding of the left.

No moral issue for you, clearly, but unless she is doing a meaningful amount of work it is clear tax evasion and potentially a criminal breach.

You clearly don't understand the difference between evasion and avoidance as well as you think you do if you believe that.

This is where we get into the area of people believing the tax rates are optional.
More Twaddle!
Paying a portion of your own salary via your spouse to avoid tax, if they are not doing any work, is definitely tax evasion and illegal.
Read this article, then apologise for your ignorance!https://www.theregister.com/2007/07/26/arctic_systems_tax_ruling/
Though, indeed, both husband and wife 'contributed' to the running of the business - see other related articles for details.
