Look again in a month or two. They are bound to drop right now but we have to remember, we are in it for the long term...... Looking now will just depress us all.
Just to pile on the misery, the FTSE 100 has plunged to almost the level of a couple of weeks ago, which was an all time high at the time.

I was planning on starting a stocks and shares isa with Santander. Im currently waiting 10 days for my log in details with only 250 quid put in to open the account.
Is it a bad time to fire a lump sum into this now?

Nobody knows the future path of the stock market, or can predict it reliably - if they did they’d be a trillionaire.

Safest and easiest way is to make regular contributions- that way if there are any dips or market falls then you’ll be taking advantage of them automatically. You’ll also be buying more ‘units’ when prices are low automatically which is good - google ‘pound cost averaging’ for an explanation of this.

the best time to start investing was yesterday... the next best is today...

... just keep investing regularly rather than trying to time the market... you will be fine..
