I don't really think it matters what number of loft is on the club.If you swing consistantly (not necessarily well) and can find a way of accurately measuring how far you hit on AVERAGE then you have enough information to make a reasonable choice of club on each shot.

Glad it worked out for at Clays. As I said in your other thread "New Irons" ( http://forums.golf-monthly.co.uk//showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/68887/page/2/fpart/3/vc/1 ) my purchase decision was heavily bias in favour of Mizuno as I love the look and feel of a Mizuno club, and that gives me an advantage by adding confidence. That doesn't mean everyone will play well with Mizuno clubs, but for me, those MP 52's are just so nice!
Have you booked yourself in for the driver fitting? Perhaps it's best you don't as I know you will want an MP 600 with the adjustable weights. Again, with the right fitting that driver is very impressive.
Returning back to my Iron fitting at Clays, I really didn't want to like any of the hybrid clubs on offer, and much preferred to keep the bag standard with 3 to pw. However, the MX Fli Hi's were a revelation of how a 3 and 4 iron equivalent standard iron should consistantly fly. Did you try these and if so what did you think?

I have been Custom Fit for my Callaway FT-5 and I love it, there is no way on this earth I would even consider swapping it, not even for the FT-9. I like the look of the Mizuno Drivers but thats as far as it goes. I have tried them and didn't think they were as good as my FT-5 (nothing is)

I dont really want hybrids, I like a 4 iron, Although I might look at getting something in a 3 iron loft. But I would prefere titleist as there woods are just unbeleivably good.

I might try out Mizunos at some point, I wont rule it out.

Can't disagree with your view on the driver you use now, you are obviously very comfortable with it, and it must be working well for you. Perhaps I should go for a driver fitting at Foregolf to compare drivers and try out the FT-5.

I'm surprised you didn't test out the Fli-Hi's during your Mizuno Iron fitting. At first I declined the invitation to even try them as I wanted a full set of Irons, but I was eventually persuaded and completely sold on them as a consequence. It almost feels like an unfair advantage to have such consistent ball flight with those hybrids, but if they improve my game, which I know they will, I'd be a fool not to have gone with them. I currently have a handicap of 15, but with these new clubs I hope to reduce this by 2 shots before May bank holiday 2009!

Joking aside now, I like long irons and between me and the pro we decided I should stick to them, possibly just get my self a rescue of 3 iron degrees.

Where do you play? We could always meet at a range for a knock and a brew. See if we cant trade some advice.

I'll crash a mini-meet if something's afoot, now I've been playing a full year, I'd like to try the X-20s again, if they're still around!!!

I tried a 2nd hand set of X-16's today at a pro shop on the course range with bag of balls......I'm giving some serious consideration to some UGI irons. (Ultra game improvement, as opposed to my sets of years gone by).

So hopefully I will have some new mizzys in a few weeks, you can hit them. I will have to take a trip to Clays soon when I order them, thats where they will be picked up from so maybe thats an option?

My home club is Eaton G C. I've been working away from home recently and will be for at least another 2 weeks, but thanks for the offer, you guys seem a pretty friendly bunch. I'll keep an eye out on the forum for you when I'm back in the frame.

I had a look at the 52's in AG this afternoon.
Until I saw them in the flesh so to speak I thought they were just an updated version of mine. Not sure which other club i've seen with a similar cavity but they are an attractive club.
I was a good boy and resisted ANY purchases...... only because they didn't have a V300 gps in.

I will pm or text you when i've spoken to the buyer tomorrow.

I have read and reread what you have phrased and still have no idea what you are on about....if you have some clubs that you have bought, that you use , that you play with, that you know how far they go then what does it matter what anyone else has - same or otherwise?

If you've bee to a driving range and hit some demos to find the one you 'like' - the club you are hitting that is right is the one that is right - you can order the same club, spec etc etc but it won't be the 'same'.....you can you have 2 clubs that are the 'same' that you can just look at and you can see they are not....

Get the right clubs for YOU and then YOU play with them.....
