Just a quick question or even a bit of advice.
We have a member of our 4 ball who’s incredibly slow.
Always lose a hole on the group in front, group behind waits on every shot.
We’ve tried playing faster between the other 3 to make up for how slow he is.
Would you mention to him how slow he is, hoping he’ll speed up?
You always have a feeling if you mention to someone they are slow, they will take offence.
Let him be offended...then maybe he'll reflect with a bit of humility.

And if he continues to play slow - taking no notice of what you've said, then call the group behind through. And if he continues and the next group behind is being held up, then call that group through also - and continue to do that. It'll be a (huge) bit of a bother for you and your mates, but that will demonstrate to Mr Slowbie the impact that his slow play is having on others and he should see how p'd off you all are.

The last place you should put a tee or a lone pencil is in your pocket.

Surely everyone carries tees in their pocket. I’ve seen bags and trollies with tee holders, but nobody actually ever uses them do they?

I once had a pair of trousers with a little loop on the seam to hold a tee. I was ok with a single loop, not sure how I’d feel about walking around with a strip of tees. That’s only a short step away from wearing an accessory belt with clips for phone, gps, golf ball holder etc

Never have a tee in my pocket, I'm the person who uses the tee holder on their trolley. I have a fear of going to get a tee out of my pocket and the sharp end going between nail and skin

That last sentence sounds like Batmans utility belt 😄 . Maybe an idea for Dragons Den, or maybe not.......

How many times have you left your bag somewhere, done a bit of a walk to get up to the white teebox, then realised you don't have a tee on you?

One of the funniest things in golf is borrowing your mates wooden tee and teeing off before him and then handing back a broken peg so he then has to go back to his bag :devilish:

On a similar note, we were playing with a mate the other week who hasn't played much this year. His first drive was a bit ropey and he forgot to bring a provisional up. My mate said 'here you go, use mine-' and chucks him a brand new ball. Promptly carved out of bounds of course.

Honestly, never. It's just ingrained, part of the process. Take out driver, remove headcover, take out tee, walk onto tee box. I don't even think about it 🤷‍♀️

Nope not me.

My tees (and spare ball markers and pitch mark repairers) are all in one of the small upper pockets on the front of the bag. The only things in my right hand pocket are my scorecard, pitch mark repairer and ball marker. Handkerchief in my left pocket.

Do you guys sharpen your tees to a needle point every round or just got soft office workers hands? :ROFLMAO:
I only buy 3.5" long tees....sometimes when I need a supply of shorter tees (e.g. for par 3s) I will take a handful of long tees into the garage and cut them down with a pair of snips at an angle (like pruning roses) to form a point. If I cut any slightly too square then the bench grinder can hone the tee to a finer point. ;)

Grinder? That’s amateur hour. I get them in the lathe and turn them down to size 😝

We’ve had two in our wider group who’ve had to speed up, both have taken it well when we spoke to them, one needs a few reminders occasionally, we did it without embarrassing them as we wanted them to take it seriously.

This is sensible .
We learn the rules by breaking them when we start playing.
If you keep breaking them your not going to improve much.

So same should go for educating players about speed of play.

“ don’t mark your card there ,the game behind are waiting to play in.” Common one on the green.

Drive first mark the card afterwards.

But there are people who think everyone else dosnt count and it’s only their enjoyment that counts.
A lot of these sadly.
