Looking for an electric sit/stand table for the home. I am pretty sure there was a thread around this but I cant locate it. dont have much room or budget to play with. I am now used to a standing table with 2 extra screens at work and it is brilliant. So hoping to create something similar. Concious that I wont be able to do that in one go, so looking to do it incrementally. any suggestions. Ikea is doing a manual table which is very affordable but electric is first preference

that was the thread from when I asked. I since decided I wanted a higher desk but not necessarily a sit stand version, so have just bought the Ikea manual frame (and am fitting a diff top), I am mounting the monitors separate from the desk which will enable me to use standing if I choose (but in the meantime have a desk which is a bit higher than your standard desk!)

if you plan on switching between sitting and standing then I would buy the electric type based on the research Ive done, if you just want to be able to alter it occasionally then the manual should be fine

Tnx for the link... in the office, i tend to change sit & stand very often hence my view on having an electric version. Had a look at the Furna one.. Looks like the E1 was on sale for abotu £250.. would have bought it straight off. The E2 looks impressive, but will need to sell a few clubs.. but now on radar.

If you mount your monitors on the wall how will use them standing up? Also did u go for a docking station?

The initial plan is to mount them on an arm high enough to be seen either sitting or standing and can adjust or at least tilt them as required. Helps having a 32" monitor too. If that doesnt work then will get a height adjustable mount (https://www.ergotron.com/en-gb/products/mounts/wall-mounts)

Re docking station do you mean for laptop? I have a mini form desktop that runs the screens

I dont want the monitor attached to the desk if the desk is likely to be being adjustable much rather an adjustable mount on the wall i think

ok.. i think personal perference.. all the ones in our office attached to the table. so it goes up and down with the desk and you dont need to adjust the height/tilt on the monitors - just change the height of the desk

Ikea do an electric one too. I use it and really like it.

If you have any specific questions, ask away.

Any good ?? Is that the Belkat? How did you attach the monitors?

It's the Idasen desk. I really like it, I now spend most of my day standing and don't feel uncomfortable. However, the desk has enough adjustment that I am comfortable both sitting and standing. The only real negative is that it is not cheap, but for me, the ability to avoid health problems is worth the expense. I didn't have any back pain or issue that made me buy it, it was preventative to avoid spending too much time sitting.

For monitors, I just bought a monitor mount from Amazon, then drilled the desk surface to mount it with a bolt, but you can just clamp it if you don't feel so destructive. I can find the specific brand of mount I got if you are interested.

I cant see it, but can you put castors/wheels under it so I can wheel it out when we need the space. I dont have much space like a dedicated home office, so might have to store it away in the garage when we need the space.
