Should I go back to the shop?

happy days. glad you got sorted. id be gutted if my new iron looked like that after a week. be carrefull with them now!

I'll head over tomorrow afternoon and chat to the manager to see what he says.

I would and I would be quite loud until you get the right answer. Clubs should be robust (fit for purpose) for normal use - it isn't like you hit a stone or dropped the bag - if the only way to protect them is iron covers you should have been informed at time of purchase or they should have been sold with them like a wood or hybrid.

I really don't like iron covers as they retain moisture and promote club head/face rust. If you end up buying some clean clubs before putting them on and taken the cover off when you get home. Personally think they are more bother than they are worth.

I agree with this and will only use the head covers when I'm transporting the clubs to and from the car and whilst out on the course. I take very good care of my clubs, clean them after every shot, clean the shafts and grips usually about once or twice a month so you can imagine I was pretty ticked off to see the damage on the 4 iron after only 2 rounds with them.

All sorted now anyway, I'm happy once more and very impressed with the customer service from both Cobra and AG (for once). Let's just hope I can put them to good use for Captains Day tomorrow!

Great news and great result and good on Cobra:thup:.

I bought set of 2nd hand CG16 irons from a mate cheap as the PW shaft was damaged,so expected to pay around £30 for new shaft but could'nt source 1 anywhere.
So took it to local pro shop and after bit of ringing around Cleveland asked him to send it back to have a look at it,week later club was returned with new shaft fitted free of charge and no questions asked:lol:.

The clubs where 2 months old and the shaft was damaged when he hit a tree root below the surface,i was happy but mate wasnt he could have had few more quid of me:p,so always worth a try.....
