So I'm probably going to have to go up to Fleetwood for a course this time home, the course only lasts 1 1/2 hrs! So I was thinking of having a
lesson with either Rick Shiels or Peter Finch, has anyone used them before? Is one better than the other?
I'll take up a few clubs (Driver/FW/Hybrid/7I/SW) probably, looking ideally to lower my ball flight.

If you're taking clubs why not take the whole bag? seems like that would be less hassle and you might even be able to squeeze a game of golf in somewhere like Fleetwood GC or North Shore, neither would be dear on a county card (if you get those in Wales, not sure)

Haven't had a lesson with either of them yet but my personal favourite of the two is Finchy. I'd have thought both of them would be as good as each other, might come down to whether or not they are able to fit you in.

I'm wary of Shiels ever since he went and said to hit up on long irons.

I had a few lessons with Pete last year and really loved them. I met Rick as well, did not have a lesson with him, but he knew I had had lessons with Pete, so when he saw me on the range the next day, he came over to ask what we had been working on and to hit a few shots for him. They are both very encouraging and fun to be with. I'd say, go with whomever you prefer from the videos. I went with Pete, mostly because I absolutely love his swing, but I am sure I would have enjoyed and profited from lessons with Rick to the same extent.

I will be back over in June for more lessons with Pete and to see both of them play in the regional qualifier for the Open.

you can book via there website, its £75. Looked to be plenty of room during the week I want to go.
I watch mostly the gear reviews with Rick to be honest, both of their swing speeds are way beyond mine tbh so not really in the same ballpark.

Whether he hooks the ball or not has nothing to do with how they will coach you.
Plenty good coaches who are not amazing golfers themselves.

Yup, it's 75 quid for a one hour lesson. They also offer three for two packages, where you pay 150 pound for three one hour lessons (which is what I use when I travel over to have several lessons in a row).
