I haven't read every page so I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but driveable par 4 holes should be a part of every course designers armoury. Great excitement, lots of fun. Even members clubs could look at this, adapting existing holes.

Let's see more of them please.

There are 4 of them here, and what it shows is the problem with the golf ball - golf would be so much better if it were shortened back 20%. What the drivable par 4s are showing is not the drivable par 4 interest in itself, but how golf is so much more a rounded test when long shots are played to greens. It discriminates so much better than the drive and wedge show. We have 8 such holes here rather than the usual four. And the competition is all the better for it.

Should be a walk in the park tomorrow. USA made no in roads today, just stopped the bleeding. 4 pts from 12…let’s have it and we can all chip in to Cantlay’s match fee / cap fund.
