He didn’t make it up, he made a mistake based on not knowing Afrikaans.
You can't know that, you can only assume

The evidence is heavily weight that way. I’ve also heard the incident and his intonation doesn’t sound confrontational in any way.You can't know that, you can only assume
Which is pretty what has happened, if it had happened in an earlier match and he wasn't the only hooker in the squad it may have been investigated properly rather than swept under the carpet. If it was a simple misunderstanding of dialect why hasn't this been noted by the SA management and an apology made for any misunderstanding? The evidence is heavily weight that way. There’s certainly more evidence in favour of the decision than the people on this thread acting like he got away with it to allow him to play in the final.
I think this has been investigated as much as it can in light of the available “evidence”.Which is pretty what has happened, if it had happened in an earlier match and he wasn't the only hooker in the squad it may have been investigated properly rather than swept under the carpet. There is also history between the two players.
All the SA team is to change their call , why use white ?
Only person to come out with any credit from this is Kolisi, class act.
Yes they do.Does the SA player and the rest of the team speak Afrikaans most of the time? Serious question btw as I have no idea.
No, I'm saying that there is a 0% chance that the team who get their supporters to sing a slave song is wrong here.So Curry made it up?
Would you be so if Curry had called him a "black c"?
I doubt it very much, unless using a persons colour as an insult it par for the course.
How could it have been differently investigated? They took a statement from Curry, asked the other players and nobody heard it. Then listened to audio available from the time Curry said it took place. What else would you have them do?it may have been investigated properly rather than swept under the carpet. If it was a simple misunderstanding of dialect why hasn't this been noted by the SA management and an apology made for any misunderstanding?
So any non Saffers sticking up for them tonight?
Sort off... got a lot of mates and former colleagues in Cape Town. But only sort of!
Could that be karma for the SA player going off injured.
Scrappy first half, a bit dull really. Was hoping that NZ would throw it around a bit more to stretch SA.
Red card? Law says yes, but I'm not convinced.
