RFU STATEMENT: TOM CURRY
RFUThe RFU fully support Tom Curry in raising the racially abusive behaviour he experienced whilst playing for England against South Africa.
During the match between England and South Africa on Saturday 21st October 2023, Tom Curry reported to the referee that he has been racially abused by Mbongeni Mbonambi.
The subsequent World Rugby investigation were informed by Tom Curry that he had also been the victim of the same abuse, from the same player, in the Autumn Test 2022. World Rugby have today announced their decision not to bring charges in respect of either incident.
The RFU are deeply disappointed by the decision taken by World Rugby. The decision not to put the evidence before an Independent Disciplinary Panel has denied the disciplinary process the opportunity to hear Tom Curry’s voice and to independently assess his account of these serious events, together with the other available evidence.
In their continued full support of Tom, the RFU together with the England Squad, condemn the disgusting abuse he and his family has received on social media as a result of his having had the courage to put unacceptable behaviour that has no place in society or on the rugby field, in the public eye.
Abuse of any kind is not acceptable and goes against the core values of rugby. It is important that it is safe and acceptable for everyone involved in rugby union to raise concerns, and the RFU continue to encourage everyone to report any unacceptable behaviour in the game.

I saw @AmandaJR cheating in the monthly medal last week. There were loads of people watching but are no other witnesses and absolutely no evidence but I'm an Englishman so it's true. The only sensible solution is to ban @AmandaJR from club comps for a year. Done.
Also - 100% heard DuPont swear at a baby the week before the 6 Nations. Loads of other people around buy nobody else heard. Only fair thing to do is ban him for all of Feb and March.

To move on to a nice subject as I have seen how toxic the other discussion can get, I will be cheering on Ben Youngs tonight in his last appearance in an England shirt.
A true legend, England's most capped player and just a really nice bloke. A true one club man who has taken unnecessary flack for under performing England teams and I hope to see him back in a Tigers shirt next week and to hopefully enjoy another year or two at Welford Road before he fully retires.

Wit means white.
Is there a more pointless game in tournament sport than the 3-4 play off? The players just want to get home, the clubs are desperate for the players not to get injured in a meaningless game, there is minimal excitement for supporters. The final is everything, tonight is pointless.

It is but on a selfish note I am happy to see Ben Youngs get a final run out in an England Shirt. Suspect it may also be it for Mahler, Cole and Manu. Pity Lawes did not get a last game but I suspect he is pretty broken after last week.

I agree, and feel that both teams should just be "beaten semi-finalists". However, for World ranking they have to play out I suspect.
