Why would he say "white side" though. That in itself seems odd. The ref for sure but otherwise...

Plus, if you're going to insult someone, you'll do it in their language so they know exactly what you mean!

Surpised when Curry asked the ref what he should do he said "nothing"...

Anyway. Pretty sure it will play out as suggested and no ban will be forthcoming.

I see world rugby is looking into this whole Mbonambi/Curry thing. As a bit of a public service to help you draw your own conclusions allow me to share 2 piece of information with you. Also conscious of the forum language rules.

  1. C*** is not a commonly used slur in South Africa. It's not like Scotland or Australia where it's basically a greeting. You will be called a Po** or a Do**
  2. In Afrikaans the word for side is “kant” it is pronounced exactly the same as c***. So “wit kant” means white side. For more fun if you heard someone shouting “die c***” in Afrikaans it is written as “daai kant” and means “that side”.

So you can now decide for yourself is he shouting an uncommonly used racist slur in his third language or is warning that a ball is available on the other side in the language commonly spoken on the field.
A lot of us on here know a South African who uses the word an awful lot ;)

On ITV perhaps, but I do not think ITV had worldwide TV rights to the semi final.
If only 8m watched the semi final worldwide coverage I would be extremely surprised
Yeah for sure - your anecdote is a strong data point and they should probably take it into account when the sell the rights for the next world cup. But on the other hand 41% of people in the UK watching TV were watching the rugby, more than watch the king's coronation, more than have seen anything else on TV this year. Really hard for layman to judge.

Will be very pleased if the proposed move by Wasps into a new home in Kent comes off.

Sevenoaks Council confirmed that the location of “the proposed stadium, training ground and hotel” is the Pedham Place area on the outskirts of Swanley, Kent - where the M25 meets the M20

Wondering who is going to fund all of this. Not sure there will be a queue of investors with rugby issues in general let alone the disaster that was Wasps in Coventry

Let’s be honest. Englands scrum was bullied once Ox came on. They were just smashed and were a walking penalty. That cost England the game!

England had their best performance at the World Cup (in bad conditions) and they couldn’t beat us when we put in an absolute shocker. They blew their chance after having the easiest ride possible. Simple

Alternatively, a poor England side, have been for a couple of years now, found a weakness within the S.Africans, exploited it, made you wobble and came within 2 1/2 minutes of winning the game. The scrums were equal until both sides made substitutions and the SA b props were better than the English versions. Fine margins, different perspectives.

Looking at how the French and English found weaknesses within the SA play, the game on Saturday is absolutely not nailed on as it might have been had people suggested this final on day one.

I see they're setting up some kind of Nations League thing, two divisions of 10 teams with relegation and promotion from 2030. Be interested to see how it works.

Not many happy with this. We need to encourage the Tier 2 nations and give them more matches against strong opposition and what have we done, shut them all out for the best part of a decade (except Australia, they seem to be one of the few weaker teams included).

Got to see how it all works with player releases etc and when and where it will all be played. Club rugby fans looking on ominously especially with the player release contract currently being negotiated.

I say let's have LIV Rugby

To be fair, if the Saudis wanted to chuck what would basically be the change down the back of their sofa at club rugby, most clubs would jump at it.

Then again, joke as we might, given my impression of those running world rugby, if the Saudis offered to pay for the showpiece final in the middle east they would leap at it.

Having looked at this a bit more, there really is a level of concern. You have this Tournament starting in July, then you have a Pacific nations tournament in August/September and I am assuming the Rugby Championship as that is normally July/August time and then back to this new tournament in October and November then the 6 Nations in February and March. Bearing in mind that you have to fit player rest periods in that, this would leave the clubs without some or all of their international players until the last few weeks of the season

Goodbye club rugby

That is why SA are World Champions.
Even when playing poorly you can win. Just like us in ‘03.
That is where England need to get back to, and the likes of Ireland and France need to reach as well.
Don’t just win when you play well.
