Rory walks off the course

I don't care how much tooth pain he's had you don't act like a petulant child and walk off. I've suffered massively with my wisdom teeth and awaiting surgery to have another removed as its impacted and broken the tooth next to it, but I manage to take pain killers and go to work.........

Yes and so did I, but the difference is, that you and I had to work to pay the bills.

I'm not saying he was right to do what he did, but just don't have all the facts to make a real judgement.

I could certainly still go to work and suffer the pain but doubt I'd be able to concentrate and play golf to any standard at all.

I assume he will now go to hospital and have his wisdom teeth removed before the next tournament. No doubt to a private hospital with perfect secrecy.
Had my impacted ones out in hospital years ago after days of pain. It wasn't the swollen face after that hurt but the chest. Apparently it was common for the surgeon to kneel on the chest and hack them out with a hammer and chisel.

I think a lot of the facts were plain to see and that his walking off was more down to the fact he has the hump than anything, the way he slammed his clubs into ground greenside on the 11th, the way he barely shook the hands of his playing partners oh and his management team mentioning they didn't have any reasons as he seemed fine! Would have thought they'd know about his tooth pain as likely them that books his dentist!

You may reserve your judgement but mine on this lad and his behaviour not just in this event but in others i've seen has brought my to where it is now.

I've said it once and ill say it again,he has no b game - every pro seems to have a safe swing/shot shape, it's its going Pete tong they go plan b.

Rory as much as I love he's aggressive approach doesn't have a backup, he just goes into self destruct.....
You've hit the nail on the head mate and I totally agree with you,Rory HAS to be good in he's own head and if not he's game simply falls apart,If he has a long bad run like Westwood did in the past does he possesses the metal aptitude to be able to come back?.

Ok fair point, I didn't watch any of the golf, just read the press report.

If as you say he threw his clubs down and not appearing in a sporting manner to his playing partners, then that is out of order.

Hopefully he will learn from it as there's still a lot of growing up to do.

I say give the lad a break. It's taken many a pro to change a swing or club, look at Faldo, 18 months to change and was the best for many a day and a few majors, not to shabby. I don't condone his actions, he's brilliant for the game and maybe on reflection, bad tooth or not, he may come out more humble and human and i'm sure he will win a few more majors...

I blame the people around him. His mind should never have been on multi million pound contracts, chasing the money when all he really should be doing at this stage is playing golf.

He was doing fine but he's been ill advised by people that are making a lot of money off the back of him.

I agree Soretooth... you make a good point.

Totally agree with this, back in the day tour golfers could make there own way at there own pace but nowdays the corporate leeches bleed them dry...

He's obviously done wrong, and no doubt realises that and I am sure once he's had time to reflect he will apologise for his actions. Let's cut him a bit of slack - he's only done what most of us have either done ourselves, or thought about doing; he hasn't gone and murdered anyone!! What I find refreshing about Rory is that he is open and pretty honest and isn't afraid to say what he thinks - it's far more refereshing and interesting than the stock, bland, boring PGA tour player!

Good comment on the BBC website: "Perhaps if Rory puts his tooth under his pillow, the tooth fairy will bring him a decent set of clubs". LOL.

Why don't Nike knock out a set of Titleist prototype clones for him? I know he's playing the model that can be bought off the shelf but if things are getting that bad anything with the swoosh on it will do!!!

So were blaming the clubs again for his poor form and tantrum induced walking off the course. Good one!

Or perhaps the über talented multi millionaire brat should spend more time on the range and put his swing and head in the right place!

His clubs aren't inferior for purpose it's the way he's swinging them.

Brat??!!

What substantiates your assertion that he is a Brat, the same way that despite not knowing you personally he may think you are a knob?

Of course he will no doubt,as you may be,be wrong.....possibly.
