Very sad news.

Mike was a real gentleman, had a huge knowledge of the history of the game, and was a decent player. There is a lovely picture of him on the forum somewhere, holding hands at arms length with his playing partners, and being lowered down into the pit beside the 18th green at Blackmoor. Hopefully I or another forumer can find it.

It was a pleasure to have met you my friend.
