Rickie's high tops & jogger golf trousers - who's buying them?

Both look ridiculous! Fair play to all those who buy them and wear them - might as well look a knob as well as playing like one!!! ;) :D

The old argument was:

Just because....insert favoured kit manufacturer here....call it golf kit, doesn't mean we have to.

Mainly used when Tiger was wearing crew necked shirts.

What ever happened to those?

To me, and seen from a distance, he looks like he has his trousers tucked into his socks. A total no-no at ours.

Now those on here who've met me know I'm fast approaching my old gitdom, but my view of Rickie's clobber is in no way coloured by this. I simply think that both look pretty awful.

What's wrong with a pair of chinos and a 'normal' pair of shoes?

Hmmm......bit like white trousers. You need to be good to get away with them

I was just about to tee off the 1st at Cooden during the Summer, resplendent in white trousers and black shirt. A couple of old ladies had turned up for a game, obviously visitors and they were looking for the pro.
"That must be him on the 1st tee" I heard one of them say.
I played my tee shot and turned to look at them but they had quickly spun round and were heading off back to the car park.
:o

Was it that really so bad that your tee shot had made the scarper

Not my cuppa tea, though neither are chinos which are equally as hideous, in my opinion.

The high tops may be good for those with dodgy ankles

Young person wearing young person clobber adapted for the golf course. Good to see.

Rather see that than see middle aged men wearing IJP tartans, loudmouth and royal and awful etc

Nothing really if you are over the age of 50. And I am pretty sure no one under the age of 50 will be offended if you or any other person past the first flushes of youth wears them. Much as no one over the first flushes of youth should really be offended if someone wears the trousers Ricky has on.

I don't know how to do the applause smiley thing, but this post is deserving.

Nothing worse than middle aged men critiquing fashion. Live & let live, miserable gits;)

Cuffed trousers unacceptable. Plus Twos or Plus Fours perfectly ok. Discuss...

Chinos acceptable, denim jeans not! You can't tuck your trousers into your socks, but plus twos and long socks OK! Smart tailored shorts OK, but smart cargo shorts not! Women can wear sleeveless, collar less tops but men can't, shirts must be tucked in even in the hottest weather, jackets and ties, etc, etc!

Some of this seems a bit odd, but Rickies' gear.........!

I'm no way cool enough to carry these off but good luck to anyone else. There's more to be concerned about in the world and it's nice to see diversity on a golf course*

*This is probably being monitored by the blazers back at R&A headquarters and I'll get a 'visit' later. Allegedly.
