Range prices

Its good Stevie. Good size, floodlit and good stocked shop. Guys are gr8 and Bob the Pro is good for the odd free tip.

Nice brew of coffee compared to WOG

plus there's no AG to keep the wife out of I suppose - embarrassing having to rugby tackle her today to wrestle a ghost spider off her

I use World of Golf at Clydebank, not cheap at £7.40 for a 100 but not bad balls (for a range), floodlit/ heated bays, decent coffee shop etc

Better off at Bearsden Stevie only £5 per 100

WOG balls arent bad, also saw they do all you can hit for a tenner- great if you wanted to spend half a day there.
whats the Bearsden one fellas? sounds interesting

*edit* just found it, holy schmolly Bob Collinson is the Pro, he taught me when I was younger, he has a son Gary I remember who was also a Pro, must pop in and hit some balls, say Hello.

I use direct golf in stanmore. 5.50 for 90 or 6.50 for 130. Balls are ok, range is top quality. I always go upstairs, where it is quiet. If I bought a card, and pre paid £20, I would get £1 off the price. I will be doing this soon, as I am thinking of having some lessons there.

I pay £3.50 for 100 (Srixon) balls a couple of evenings a week at our floodlit range, think it would be 50p extra during the day. Hope our pro doesn't read this thread and get any ideas about putting prices up!

another world of golf clydebank user here, its just 2 mins from work so very handy, if you get a range card you get more balls for less

I was just thinking about this the other day as a thread while at a range so am glad someones started it

Most folks seem to be getting far better deals than the three ranges I use

16-18 balls for £1, ball quality is Ok, distance markers tend to be in meteres not yards (but they won't tell you that unless asked), one is like playing off concrete, no auto replen & the field is over a gully to limited targets (& is the poorest & dearest of the three)

Best deal is happy hour in Stirling which doubles the ball quantity or get a breakie deal of 100 balls, coffee & bacon roll for £6

£5.60 for 100 balls I think. The range has just been rebuilt with a new American Gowf built onto it so it has fairly new Wilson balls, new matts etc. It's still the same muddy field, but it's better than nowt.

I use Pine Ridge (Part of Crown Golf) and it’s £4 for 60 balls and £5.75 for a 100.
36 driving bays and the balls are Nike and in generally good nick, but the bucket
of 100 I had last night looked like stones to me  they were all dirty worn out
with no dimples.

Local range on a pre-paid card £2.50 for 50 generally Ok Srixons - about 10% Duds.

World of Golf New Malden on a pre-paid card £8.40 for 110 good balls (can't remember brand) no Duds.

Which one I use depends on how late in the evening I can get out, World of Golf is open to 10:30.

I now refuse to use WofG out or principle. I thin its a shocking price for balls so I just use Johnstone Castle or go to Gailes in Irvine now.

I use the range to have a swing and work on things so couldn't really care about range balls and distances.

Went to Blue Mountain in Bracknell yesterday. Realised why I haven't been regularly for years. Basically a poorly lit open field. £4.50 for 80 range balls. They have some Nike ones in there which are obviously new. Bit like rockes bit round and with defined dimples. The old stock were either cracked worn or had bits missing so it was a lottery how many of the good balls you got and how many duff ones.

I usually go to Maidenhead Golf Centre. I've a range card and although its £4.50 for 85 balls, if I top up with £40 a time they give me an extra £10 worth of credit on top. Srixon range balls there and muc better quality

You should try Bird Hills, good range, think its 4 quid for 100 balls, could be wrong though, been a while since I've been up there. Oh plus theyve got an AG store there and Wednesday nights they have Salsa classes in the hall, so lots of lovely ladies about ;)

Myself and Oddsocks use the same range:
£3.50 for 50 balls
£6.00 for 100

Nike balls are OK (bit hard) but they have some Spaldings in there which are so worn they dont have dimples and wont fly. Plus its like hitting up the north face of the Eiger!

Most of the old spaldings are coming out over the winter, they have just had a load of new nike range balls delivered matt, when you go in the shop look under the table to the right of the counter ;)

I have 5 ranges within a 10/15 min drive from my house and they all have different qualities 3 have the auto tee mats ok but you tend to play faster,we have one that has new owners after it went bust after 12 months 50 balls (new and shiny) a bacon bap and a cup of tea/coffee for £3 and the pro is a young lad who will give you tips f.o.c if you ask him only a promo till it picks up but well worth it,the best by far around here is at the TRAFFORD CENTRE heated bays and run like a club house great shop and a restaurant were you can have a great meal and a few beers not cheap but you get what you pay for.

I have 2 within a reasonable distance from me. One at a muni, £3.50 for 50 balls which are ok quality, good lights and plenty of targets but from 100 to about 220 is downhill so you can't see where the ball lands.
The other is at the club I play at. £2.50 for 50 balls, they used to be rubbish but recently replaced them with better ones. The downside is the range isn't very long (especially the left hand side) so you normally see quite a few balls walking up the first that have been hit over the fence. Quite annoying if your ball is in amongst them.
