Range Practice

Medway Jon Fading it in nicely tonight.

I proceeded to get worse with the few balls i had left jon it was going that way when it got dark.

Managed to sweet talk finlay into letting me take a mizuno MP67 demo 6iron home to try out on the grass!

oh dear i dont like the sound of this!!!

Don't worry Smudge. If either or both play much better than their "handicaps", then we can threaten to put their cards in to their clubs for handicap purposes under rule 19.

Works a treat every time

Can someone clarify rule 19 for me. Have couple of people (my brother included) who could do with cutting a few strokes. Last time we went out he played under his handicap in a howling gale so if I can insist on a couple of cards being put in it may help. Ironically I have the card from that round as he signed it for me to get my handicap.

I had a good session today at the clubs practice area. (I really should practice off grass more frquently).

Shanked ~40 wedges at the range last night, so was a bit worried about today. Was hitting my wedges lovely, even getting confident enough to control the flight. Not a shank in sight.

Hit some 6 irons too, been working on a wee swing improvement, looks promising. I paced out ~10 yards difference between shots hit with my existing swing and "under development" one.

Looking forward to a game tomorrow now!

Had a mini session on the practice ground with my new R7's as it looked like my partners had blown the day out. Was hitting the short irons (W-8iron) pretty well when the other member of the 4 ball turned up (I had assumed he had blown out as well). Hurridly collected my balls and out for a game.

On the range tomorrow (weather not looking good) to work on a few things I noticed on course.

Glad it went well for other people today. I too was on the practice ground with my new lob wedge and got on brilliantly with it. Love the fact you can get it up and then down dead within 20 yards every time. Once I got the confidnce to attack the flag on the short game area, having concured my fear of hitting it long which was resolving in my shots coming up to short; due to a lack of commitment to the stroke, my shots were brilliant. I may have to start using the phrase 'up and down' at this rate. :D :D

Spent another hour at the range this afternoon. Got another lesson tommorrow afternoon so just wanted to check that what I've practiced since the last one is still working. Went ok I think. I'll see how tomorrow goes, it's getting nearer and nearer to the start of the season.

It's murder trying to change what has become a 'bad habit' and to get the feel of the new method. Still it's got to be worth it in the end.
