Random Irritations

Been on a few stags there and it was certainly an eye opening experience.
But I also went with my wife and it was completely different, like @KenL said, Anne Frank's house was a sobering afternoon.
I would like to go back at some point with the Wife and look at the actual cultural side of it as it was lovely I just wasn’t grown up enough at the time I went.
Once went to Amsterdam for the weekend. Got home 2 weeks later!
Sounds like my experiences 😂

I am once again my own irritation. I’ve been sat in hospital for 6hrs today due to a minor slip that I thought was nothing. Nope turns out it’s a lot more than nothing. I’m clearly getting old and need to drive a desk and be cocooned in bubble wrap 😒

The only bonus from the prognosis is I can carry on playing golf as walking will form part of my rehab! @PaulMdj im blaming you for recently highlighting that I’m an old git! It’s all been downhill since that day 😂

LOVE Amsterdam. Been loads. I’ve done the stag do thing but yes the cultural side is amazing! As well as Van Gogh, the Reijksmuseum is also outstanding. Architecture is iconic of course. There is some amazing food there too. The big tours are ok but if you can find one of the smaller boat canal tours you can go to some of the places the big boys simply can’t.

Me and Mrs S went to a sex show in the red light last time we went. It was not in the slightest bit erotic or arousing (at least speaking personally) but was in fact hilarious.

Get yourself some Werthers Originals, you’ll be fine.😂😂

They go very well with Royal Air Force blue.😂😂
Thankfully that’s not a uniform I have to wear in my role 😂

Every time I go to a Normal RAF unit and see them wearing it I cringe. Then when I rains you can smell them a mile off , those hideous wool trousers stink Of wet dog in even the slightest drizzle! Think our old No2 dress but not as well fitted 😂

I got in for free as I was the stag so that got me going more than the show.

Openreach - their level of ineptitude is staggering, 2.5 months to install my Fibre Broadband, lots of wasted visits, and they ended up using the termination point 25m up the road, which they said they couldn't, as the one outside my house still wasn't active! The engineer said it would likely be another 8-12wks if I wanted to insist they activated it. I get the impression the original engineer knew the ducting was blocked and blagged it.

The new roundabout on the Southern relief road around town, that started being built 2 1/×2 years ago, is finished.
It's not fully open yet, with cones leaving only 1 of the many lanes circumnavigating it....
I've been through it a few times and they've, well, made a real dogs dinner of it.
Going out of town there's a turning left lane..good....then there's 2 lanes for going ahead but no lane markings for turning right....
These 2 lanes merge into 1...about 25 yards off the roundabout.....so that's not going to cause any problems then..
Coming into town it's much the same, a left lane and 2 lanes ahead but no right turn markings..and we get a similarly short merge distance which also has a turning right lane into a road within 10 yards of it..there's going to be carnage...and lorryage too....
it cannot have been designed or ok'd by anyone that drives..it just can't have....nobody with any road sense would ....
Once more, I despair.......

They always have because that is what we were told to call them for the last 40+ years. Now they want to change it to the pronunciation that they use in Czechia.

Now, you can ignore it and keep using the same sound but that is a bit bloody minded really. You are giving off full Yorkshireman vibes here 😄
Yorkshireman? How dare you!
I was born in Sarf Lunnen. (But my mum was from Hull, so guess that makes me mixed race :ROFLMAO:)
