Random Irritations

Me being stupid! Cutting some crusty bread for lunch, paying no attention to what I was doing and managing to slice right through not 1, not 2 but 3 of my fingers 😡😒

Claret every where and some nice chunks of bread ruined!!
Reminds me of years ago "when I was a lad". My parents used to buy beefburgers from the local butcher which were delicious but sold frozen and so stuck together. My dad used to separate them with a butter knife. Fast forward to me being out one evening and returning home quite "merry" and hungry and decided to make myself a burger. Did I grab a butter knife? Of course not. I grabbed a Wiltshire StaySharp self sharpening knife from its holder. A minor slip and blood is pouring from my finger. My dad managed to stem the flow but the tip of my middle finger still points slightly downwards 45 years later.
Oddly enough it matches the middle finger on my right hand caused by the tendon snapping (mallet finger) while I was putting on a fitted sheet. I kid you not!

OK thanks. I will plead guilty to being lazy and asking here - I should have Googled the stuff. Slapped wrist time.
I see that it gets consumed at a rate of about 1 litre per 25 litres of fuel. So in effect it's adding about 5p a litre to the price of diesel.
I'm not sure where that equation comes off but it seems extremely pessimistic. I reckon I get around 1,000m out of a litre of adblue. Maybe my car is light on it but that's about right after 16k miles.

Never mind that. Tell us about the burger!

I was just going by Mr Google who said Adblue consumption was about 4%-6% of diesel. Sounds like it's less in your case.

Driving through Chelsea this morning at about 7.30 and saw a large queue of people outside the Apple Store waiting for it to open to grab the latest phone, and they wasn’t kids. I mean could you be arsed?

The new Apple Watch Ultra 3 got released on Friday, they were most likely queueing for that. Not surprised really, it's supposed to be a quality piece of kit 👌

Exactly - who can get by nowadays without an emergency locator beacon strapped to their wrist? Never worked out how people survive going down to the shops without one :ROFLMAO:
Allows me to go for runs and connect to my headphones streaming music whilst tracking performance, GPS is excellent for hiking and for when deployed on the ground there’s app like Theodlite that really help with my job and Skydive snitch is excellent for tracking altitude and speed when parachuting. Really good for golf apps as well 🤣

Though I’d agree the Ultra series is not needed for people who just need an everyday smart watch but for those that do things which can make use of its advanced functions it’s class.

I guess it’s no different to how did golfers managed before Range finders, GPS devices and watches 🤷🏼

Plus it helps you find the beer aisle in tesco 🤣

And then you go on a real deployment and have to take it off so you aren’t tracked.

Do you recall the story a few years back where they could see where all the US bases were from looking at starve and seeing where everyone was running around the base perimeter? 🫣

To be fair there aren’t many PED red places at the Minute. But the ones there are it’s a small price to pay for safety and extra pound notes 😏

That wasn’t just US bases it happened at Hereford, Poole and Massarene they were tracking the men with blacked out eyes on strava 🤣

Even more recently they had to ban the newly acquired fleets of electric Volvo and MG’s from Hereford, Poole and a lot of signals camps because the GPS systems and data could be hacked to gain intel on camps 🤣

I tried a smart watch for a while, but I decided it wasn't for me. I prefer a standard analogue watch that tells the time. And that's it. I don't want my wrist to buzz every time someone sends me a message.
If I needed to go for some form of Smartwatch then I would probably go hybrid. My missus wants to keep an eye on her health so I bought her a Withings Scanwatch. She absolutely didn't want a smartwatch, she wanted something that looked like a watch but she can get all the info she wants from the app. She's turned off any email or message notificatoins as well. She loves it.

Finding out Skechers are really comfy and having to buy a pair - feel old 😁
I really don't want to say how many pairs of Skechers I have (including 2 pairs of Skechers golf shoes) ☺️ 🤫 .
I even have an alert on HotUKDeals in case I can pick up any bargains. I never pay full price for a pair.

It's a bit like Alcoholics Anonymous. "My name is Robster59 and I wear Skechers and play with a chipper"

My watch lives permanently in cinema mode so all msg, calls and notifications are silenced. Screen is set to off and only comes alight when wrist is tilted to view the time etc. when then use it for exercise or those other activities I mentioned the i take it out of cinema mode just for the app that’s being used to track. Works perfectly for me in that way , plus my phones always permanently on silent mode as just lighting up with notifications rather than any annoying beeps or vibrations.

Many would say what’s the point but it works for me 🤷🏼

Just a single pair of casual trainers for me as I get discount 😁
