We Buy Any Car. I have been using them to update the value of my Skoda Octavia for past cpouple of years as have been getting itchy feet for a new car. In the past 10 days the value has rocketed from £9.2k to 10.3k - so i bit the bullet - went down and they siad... 9.1! I They then upped to 9.5 and said the final offer. I went off but came vak and accepted. It was still a decent price for no hassle sell but, vased on my one previous sale 9 years ago i was expecting circa 200-300 off due to small scratches on an otherwise very good conditioned car. I asked him how many people get the figure quoted and he said none. And he said that nearer 10% off is more then norm!
Whilst I agree the NHS does waste money, they get a mountain of (unfair) criticism over wasting medical supplies. Dressing packs opened with the majority thrown away, Medications similarly. They’re single use & lifed. A lot of what is thrown away is done so for the right reasons.

I don't doubt that. From what she sees, there's endless delays caused by rediculous authority chains often resulting in more damage being down because everyone has to get clearance from the next level.
From my perspective, countless drugs and supplies unopened and unused being thrown away becuase they can't be returned. Even crutches, issued and unsused. "throw them away" is what they say. It's aluminium, and could be easily sterilised (although unused) and reissued. It has to be cheaper than buying new...surely?

When your due to handover the on call duty for the weekend and next week ahead at work and find out the person you’re handing over to has been given annual leave but the higher ups forgot to tell you and arrange cover !!!!

Driving through Chelsea this morning at about 7.30 and saw a large queue of people outside the Apple Store waiting for it to open to grab the latest phone, and they wasn’t kids. I mean could you be arsed?

They are and I am getting one. Eventually. But I will pay for it outright. Then Sim only. As with all iPhones there are upgrades. I will go from a 12 to a 17. Missis T an 8 to a 12. Up until 6 weeks ago I was having an iPhone 15 or 16 pro off back light which are very good. But it’s £100 more for the 17pro which was released today.
Would I upgrade from
A 16 to a 17. Not a cat in hells chance.

I’ve got a 15 Pro Max and a quick google tells me the only difference between that and the 17 version is the 17 is slightly better for gaming!
I’ll be sticking with what I’ve got thanks , my phone is for calls, messaging a bit of googling and taking pics. None of that is significantly different enough on the new version for it to warrant the cost.
But then what really does the latest TM driver (insert alternate brand here) do that someone’s last season driver doesn’t do! Yet people will fall over themselves to have the latest greatest bit of kit whether that’s a phone, golf club etc just to be the one with bragging rights

Not really. I can remember doing a piece at school, 1976, about planned obsolescence. Apple are the absolute masters at making people believe they need the next model. You’d have thought that society would have moved on from believing the marketing hype.

The cameras are far superior. Which is the main thing for me re Families and holidays. Faster chip. More memory. Mine is now 5 yr old. Missis Ts. 7. So they have more than paid for themselves.

If you took holiday photos on 14 & on a 17 I’d be willling to bet you couldn’t tell the difference.
