Random Irritations

My mother-in-law, 94 years old, has just had it.
For her it was nothing more than a bad cold!
I’m hoping I haven’t got it! I had it a couple of years ago and only found out as work forced us to test. Never had a symptom or felt ill at all. Hoping what I’m feeling today isn’t retribution for having it so easy a couple of years ago 🤣

Feel like I’ve been hit by a train today! Both physically and mentally exhausted, I’ve done nothing different to normal, slept pretty well but my body feels like it’s been battered, every part of me aches and I feel tired beyond belief.

Haven’t got the energy to train, definitely don’t have the energy to go hit balls and can’t even summon the energy to make food but need to eat. Gonna have something quick and get myself dosed up to watch the football in bed, hopefully pass out and wake up tomorrow feeling better
My mate was like that a few weeks ago he had Covid.

The family are currently on holiday in the South West. A stunning rental holiday home with great coastal views. Cost a blooming fortune.
So what’s to complain about….
Toilet Rolls….
We were left 4 to last the week 🫣

You have to drive to the nearest shop too.
4?

The vast majority of self catering holiday rentals will leave you 1 roll to get you started.

We stayed at a lovely apartment in Mumbles this year. Great location and apartment was in great condition. What spoilt it was no welcome package and no tea bags!!!😱
Sadly I think the welcome pack is becoming a thing of the past, we used to use a company called Lyme Bay holidays for a few years for cottages in Devon and Dorset, they was great, a little welcome card on arrival, a welcome pack of Tea and biscuits, milk, water and wine in the fridge, it was great. Unfortunately about Covid time they were bought out by a bigger company called Sykes, next time we used them there was bugger all, in fact somehow due to "Covid" we had to make our own beds, all the bed linens were just in a blue Ikea bag in the hall. Don't use them anymore.

It's not company specific, we have used Sykes a lot (it's my surname :ROFLMAO: ) and nearly all have nice pack ups, local produce, wine etc. This was a different company that we have also used before and they didn't have anything. I believe it is up to the owners as a lot advertise on multiple different websites.

I’ve used Sykes for a cottage in Northumberland. Beds were all made and there was the basic requirements (tea, cofffee and milk), but TBH I’m going self catering and expect to take what I need.

We go self catering and apart from breakfast and making the odd picnic to take out, most meals are eaten out so we don't tend to take much. Would be nice to have a cuppa after unpacking and if there are no tea bags and milk I can get grumpy (just like a lot of golfers on here :ROFLMAO: )

Agree, I think if the letting company is managing it completely then nix welcome pack.

We always book somewhere in February for 2 weeks self catering. The family can then come up and go home as it suits them.
On the day we go we drop everyone where we are staying and while they unpack and get things sorted a couple of us go to the nearest supermarket and buy whatever we need for the 2 weeks.

I don’t expect anything to be left for us so I’m never disappointed then
