I used to do this but my current cars are a Golf R (popular for criminals to steal with keys as a getaway car for other crime) and a keyless BMW 5-Series (which has already been targeted on my driveway by thieves with a signal amplifier). So I'm a bit cagey about it these days.

It's cool, Golfs are only the second most stolen car this year. Distant second behind the Fiesta.

Why would you steal a modern Fiesta, other than because it's there?
I assume you can no longer unlock any Ford car with almost any Ford key, like you could years ago.

Fancy that - the most popular cars being the most stolen! Probably still a lower percentage than the top end cars.

Which is weird because they're pretty reliable and Ford parts aren't that expensive.

This does cross my mind when I post the keys at my local garage.
All it would take is a magnet & piece of string & they’ve got your keys.

Must just be pure probability, right? That's why we see Focus and Corsa next on the li... oh wait!

I suspect it's more complex as just sheer volumetric. Low(er) grade security may play a part.

No way! Pool doesn’t open until 9am anyway and loads of beds, never a problem getting one - just they were ours!!!

But theres those who take them for nothing, and sell at great profit to them (but cheaper than official) and some are happy.
I little while ago it was small Vauxhalls that were suffering big time.
Last week I saw a Fita 500 parked up on the street. All it's lights, front bumper and grill all taken.

We’ve had no gas since Wednesday. Apparently a water main burst and a shedload of water entered the gas pipes.
So far they have pumped out over 6500 litres of aqua
350 houses affected, they reckon we should be back on over the weekend.

We have a leccy oven and air fryer, the hob is gas and the hot water is gas, both showers are leccy. So I don’t stink any more than normal.

So not majorly inconvenienced
I’ve got a 2 ring leccy hot plate in the loft that is in use

Just this on top of all the ongoing road closures for HS2 etc , it’s like…. What’s next?


Oh and the bloody tube strike next week which is going to royally mess up my work

Tube strikes again for 7 days from this evening!!! The conservative estimated cost to the economy £230m and amonsgt other things they are striking to bring down weekly hours to 32! With the economy in this much of a mess.....

Seems strange with no-one on here telling you how they are underpaid, misunderstood and deserve every penny!
