Random Irritations

I didn’t say it was a banned member.

No need to report anything to anyone.

It’s a personal random irritation, as per the thread title.
It wasn’t aimed at you specifically.
It was more the hysteria when this happens, which is quite regular.

Just take a breath & remember it’s just a golf forum 😂

Had a white 1.9 GTi a couple of cars after the XR2i. Drunk driver ploughed in to it while it was parked up on the village main street. Heart broken I was.
I think I’d have cried if someone did that to my one!

Another car I had when I was younger that was immense. My dad actually gave me, a 1989 MG Maestro 2.2L Turbo they were limited edition 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and Top Gear had one on a few years ago racing a 911.

That was a phenomenal car ran on 4* leaded petrol was a beast of a machine. Gutted I ever got rid of it for sentimental reasons as much as anything. Couldn’t find one the same colour mine was Atlantic Blue with the white alloys

I had an MG Montego EFi. The entire range was notorious for rusting wheel arches, and don’t get me started on the red paint oxidisation. I spent my entire life polishing it, until the head gasket went and I scrapped it. Oh, and the heater didn’t work.

Dreadful car, remembered with as much fondness as some of my football team’s summer sales will be in the years to come.

Rear Wheel arches by any chance! That was one of the issues I had with it. Had to strip them right back and have them remoulded with fibre glass.

I also remember an issue with the boot lock as in the whole barrel would literally just fall out so you could open the boot with a pencil 🤣

My dad had the Montego EFi as well in a metallic red he spent more time polishing that than he did with us kids 🤣

Yep, the rear arches were a disaster area.

That was VERY quick back then.

That was VERY quick back then.
It was a literal beast of a machine. The steering was so heavy on it due to the performance and sheer amount of power it had to be. Put your foot down and it was unreal and corners like it’s on rails. That’s one of the test they did on top gear against the 911 due to its power to weight ratio and how quick off the line it was.

Put in a low gear or reverse and trying to park in a bay, then you needed forearms like popeye to manoeuvre the thing!

Edit: genuinely surprised I never killed myself in it 🤣
