Random Irritations

I think DPD can show you a map of where the vehicle is and how many stops before yours.
This was my point to them in the phone today, pretty much every other provider I’ve had parcels sent to me by provide a tracker of either how many stops away the parcel is or where the vehicle is, plus they generally hit their time slots. But RM supposedly the premier service were all supposed to rate can’t seem to do that and can’t update their delivery teams until they get back to depots where they can “pass on a msg”

I’m resigned to the package being lost to the gods! I’ve claimed it back in my card and even after the kind offer from the Vendor to send via a different means I’ve declined as now it’ll be quicker just to go pick one up this weekend that wait for another delivery.

Specsavers hearing check and they spotted something they thought needed checking out, so they sent the pictures to my GP.
Fair play to them they referred me to the local ENT clinic, estimated 19 week wait on the NHS app.
Click on the link to book on the appointment and none available. So back on the waiting list.

How can something that has so much money spent on it be so useless.

Repairing some kerb rash on a mate’s alloy wheel, the smell of the filler (basically silver Catalloy for them that remember it). Absolutely honking, took me right back to my apprenticeship in a draughty old garage filling panel dents on beat up Cavaliers and Escorts.

Sands easy though so that’s a plus. Can’t wait for the smell of the acrylic base coat 🤢

Having a mare with online ordering lately.

Just been onto the AG website as Mrs M wanted me to order her some balls, put some in my cart and saw a nice Puma top in the sale so thought I’d get that too. Completed the order hit pay. Weirdly they’ve only charged me half the amount of the total order, but then their website says the order want completed due to an error! So now I’m £30 down as it’s definitely left my bank, I’ve no order confirmation email or order number from the website, and I can’t confirm which part of the order they charged me for! Oh and their online help are closed for the weekend 😂

I give up ordering stuff online 😒

Secondary school starts back next week. Largest one in the county. They started digging up the road for gas works last week. Temporary traffic lights from last week and its already been carnage. Muppets who planned it :poop:

Don't worry the week after it's resurfaced the water/electricity company will be along

Ironically they did this where we live!

Dug up one of the roads, then relayed it, week later water company, 2 weeks later , electricity and kid you not 4 weeks later open reach!

The road looks like a horrific patch work quilt whereas had they done it once could’ve just laid a whole new section and it would look better and been less disruption.

I've been particularly irked by a couple of things this weekend....

People who walk into a shop (usually in a group) who then stop on the threshold of said shop and have a discussion as to what it is they need to buy whilst folk behind them, who know exactly why they are going to the shop try to get past....and then the look of indignation on the faces of the folk blocking the doorway when people politely tell them to get out of the way.

I spent a couple of hours driving round some very narrow tight bendy country lanes yesterday...the number of folk who drive at speeds round said roads oblivious to the fact that stuff might be coming the other way and give themselves no time to react....oh and the little old lady in the car behind me who's eyesight must have been so bad that she needed to drive within two car lengths of my vehicle round said country roads. I pulled over after a while and waved her by, never saw her again, hope she's ok.

On the plus side though, there was a group of bikers...maybe 7 or 8, including a couple of L plates...they were obviously out for a ride round some of the (not quite rural country roads) twisty undulating two lane B roads....they weren't thrashing it but they were going at a decent pace....but what i noticed was that the rider at the back hung back a bit from the group which helped give much earlier warning to cars behind...especially round some of the blind bends where there were a couple of road works restrictions that forced said bikers to stop. Enjoyable day out for them, but as a group, riding defensively.

It’s like people have no self awareness.

Had a lovely time in Notts on Friday. So we travelled back on the train. Couple we were with got off two stops before us. They got off and a guy followed them off the train. However four lads about 16 yr old tried to get on with there scooters as he was getting off. And they wouldn’t shift. He literally shoved one of the kids out of the train and he said “ it’s normal Manners to let folk off the train before anyone gets on”. They looked at him with right attitude. I thought he was gonna smack one of them.
When the train doors closed and we set off they were giggling about it.
They were pig ignorant and had no respect whatsoever.
