Random Irritations

His action wasn't legal, and then they changed the rules to suit his actions, thus making it legal. One of the more questionable changes in sporting rules.

It’s a tough one. His biomechanics showed up a congenital defect which wouldn’t allow him to fully straighten his arm. To ban him because of a medical issue might have led to discrimination issues. The bent arm I didn’t have an issue with but the way he whipped his arm through whilst straightening it as best he could made it a chuck.

Mrs H has hyperextension in her arms, and she can’t straighten her arms. Her action when she (lawn) bowls resembles an octopus putting a sweater on in a phone box, but it’s highly effective. If she attempts to straighten her arm her elbow catches her side.

It's an argument that split cricket, still does as far as the record books are concerned. I don't buy the discrimination issue, that's just one of those things. Should you change the rules for 1 person, opening the floodgates for others?

So this weekend is spent in Manchester for Oasis.
Suffice to say a few beers were drunk however.
2 drinks in Wetherspoons £5.80.
Same two drink in premier inn. £12.20.
Other bars in town £14.00. Yesterday morning we spent 4-5 hrs in the Wetherspoons at the side of old Trafford. The mitre I think it’s called. The three lads I was with had 5-6 pints. Me, three cups of defacf tea with my breakfast. Free refills. No music but talking and I watched 4-5 hrs of golf. 👍
But the massive difference in prices from pub to pub is shocking.

There was an Australian left-arm fast bowler in the 60s, Ian Meckiff, who was reported for throwing. It was marginal to say the least. Ruined his career.

Each one is a tough call, I haven't seen that guy bowl so I can't comment on his example. However, throwing isn't bowling and thems the rules 🤷‍♀️. It's cricket, not baseball ;)

It looks like someone merged the new thread I created with the old one.

Here is the thread for CRICKET discussions. 😜

Having a kitchen renovation so getting rid of a Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer and Oven. They're priced to sell as I don't want to store them and they're no good to me.

Facebook Marketplace

"Is it available?"

"Yes, absolutely, still available if you're interested."

Nothing, ever.......

Rain they said
Thunder they said.......
Best not play this morning we said.........

Bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky....... 🤬
Exactly that! There was a match at my club today but was cancelled because of the weather forecast.
Mate and I tee'd off at 8am, sunshine and cloudy, little wind and not a drop of rain!
Lovely round but can't say that about my golf! 🤬

I think I'm done with Birmingham airport for a bit, landed back at 4am this morning, 30mins to get through passport control, and stood waiting at carousel 7 for our luggage to see it going around and around on 8.
Took ages getting through security last week too. They've had a year to fix last years issues and still haven't.

Still sounds better than Bristol!

Last year we got back late ish at night and they decided to put the baggage of the only three flights that arrived on the same carousel. The airport seems to enjoy fleecing and upsetting its customers.

Probably a number of different departments with a "not my job" attitude and the end user suffers.

Although Leeds/Bradford seems to be the most crowded in the UK (virtually no seating) and 500 yard walks to the plane, at last it has got a new baggage reclaim hall.
Infinitely better (y)

It’s just the overall attitude of the place.
For example they only allow their own monopoly taxi service to service the airport which is expensive and poor (over 1 hour waits even when you’ve booked) or the fact that they only allow one meet and greet parking firm to operate (their own) which means this service is four times more expensive than Heathrow or Gatwick. You have to pay for trollies and don’t get me started on drop off pricing - etc. etc.

While we’re doing airports
I had to go through Gatwick twice last month and while I understand why they mix things up at security i.e liquids /laptops in/out etc its bloomin annoying to transit when its busy and the ‘yellers’ are all shouting over each other

(yellers are the staff that are supposed to be giving instructions for their particular Q but its just a mash of noise)

On the plus side gatwick has a good greggs
