Random Irritations

Massive first world problem but my poor luck with delivery firms continue

Ordered ps5 this morning to be delivered by 4pm to Sainsbury's next to work

9pm I left work. Not there. Zero information where it is or when will arrive. So I'll have to wait until I'm next in work . If it arrives

Then my putt out I got sent to coop.matt here fine but they can't find the devil ball

Just rotten luck

Oh and Abdul the DPD driver is still just leaving parcels on the driveway taking a photo and saying "left in shed" hate that guy
😂😂😂

Most of this gripe could actually be posted in things that gladden the heart but…

Mojacar’s premier fiesta runs from the 5th to the 8th June. The Moors & Christians fiesta. Lots of different things to see, culminating in an amazing parade tomorrow afternoon. The parade lasts over 2 hours… stunning costumes, lots of music, blunderbuss’ fired off regularly, lots of artisan stalls. It really is spectacular.

Why the gripe? It’s party central Friday night, Saturday night & Sunday night, each night culminating in a firework display around 5am. Our neighbours came home just after the fireworks finished. No tip-toeing in quietly, nor disappearing off to bed straightaway.

Waking up early. I'm in a rubbish rut right now, initially waking around 4.30 every morning and then dozing back off with very mixed results. Very frustrating, and tiring.

I wake/get up at varying times between 4am and 7am.
But I'm in bed before 10:30pm most nights and I have no trouble at all getting off to sleep.

Mind you, I take a nap at anytime during the afternoon, if I feel like it.

About 4:25 this morning - teeing off at 8:42am.
Afternoon nap for certain today. That will be after dealing with all the damp golf gear.

Out of the blue my Sky Q mini box - which has been working great for a good 2-3yrs, has starting glitching…to the extent that programmes are unwatchable…and not just recorded…any programme.

Not happening for Apps on the box such as Netflix and YouTube…they are running fine.

Tried doing a network reset for the mini box…but to no avail - though as part of the reset the box flagged up that the network signal was strong - so don’t see that it can be that.

Such a pain. Don’t know of a fix but will do more research…

I might be stating the obvious but have you checked the disk space? Have you got too much old stuff recorded that you will never watch that can be deleted?

Does the main Q box work ok?

+1
I discovered on a helicopter trip in Hawaii nearly 30 years ago that attempting to document an experience with photos simply results in missing out on the point of said experience.
The same thing seems to happen at the big theme parks in Florida. Now phones, but back in the day it was video cameras. A family of four as an example. Theee enjoying the day and the fourth squinting through a camera eyepiece. Probably watch the video back once when they get home and then never watch it ever again.

👍 Checked and about 65%. I do seem to have sorted the problem by rebooting our router…something I hesitate to do as never too confident that the reboot will complete and so we’ll lose IFE (internet for everything).

re booting the router - sadly something I have to do a bit more frequently than most, mainly due to very short power cuts. I used to have a battery back system (UPS) for the computer hardware but that sadly failed to work any more.
Downside to living in an area where a lot of the power systems are delivered by overhead wires rather then underground.

Went out for my longer ride on Saturday morning. Met with a couple of the guys at the canal. Stated raining as we set off, stopped train jacket on, it started hammering down, within mins the path was flooded and it was like riding down a stream. Went we got to the end of the canal the others decided to give up and head back. I though I'm wet now i will just go a bit further. Once I'd hit the bottom of the climb it stopped, got round without it raining again, but looked it I had just done Paris-Roubaix. If we had met half hour later we'd have been fine. 🤣🙄

The joys of an English summer.

So....Evri have, seemingly, lost yet another parcel on its way to me...
This irritation isn't specifically about them, but all couriers..
3 parcels have gone missing this year..either from me or to me...
Where do they go?
If these companies have hundreds of employees and some of them are ripping off parcels, why haven't they retired on their ill gotten gains..
Approximately 8 million parcels get lost or stolen each year.....yep...8 million...that's quite a few isn't it.....
Where the hell are they?
