Random Irritations

It is has a switch which can be on or off. It has an indicator light for the current state but you have to bend over to see it.

I would like a few more switches for turning off auto functions:)
Totally agree. I'm lucky in that my car is old enough, 5yrs, to have buttons that take me straight to the screen where I can turn off lane assist. It resets each time but I do it as part of the start up process, seat belt on, start engine, turn off lane assist. Takes seconds. I had a brand new courtesy car recently that took about 4 screen swipes to get to the right place :( . Absolute pain.

Buttons designers, we still like buttons 😄

We had that horrible day today, took our 15yr old spaniel to be put down this afternoon. No doubt the right decision but still horrible. Undoubtedly the worst part of having a pet.
I agree. I still wish my Staffie was still with me. The only time he wagged his tail walking into the vets was his last day.
It hurts like mad even after 7 years or so, but I know it was the right thing and he was saying so.

I don't mind having to cover for someone when they got things going on at home IE emergency stuff. Especially when he's a good friend

What does boil my blood is he is having to deal with things, miss work (emergency leave) all whilst his soon to be ex wife is at home doing naff all.

I can't wait until she's out his life and he can wash his hands of having to do everything for her.

My eyes have been watering all day yesterday, then I get home and got told my little girl had the same issue! I guess it's some form of hayfever that just happens at this time year. Took a Claritin this morning though and that hasn't really helped. Left eye still watering and I haven't even been outside yet.
Five days later and it still hasn't stopped, and my left eye is now red raw and very painful. Claritin has done bugger all so I don't even know if it is hayfever or if I just need something stronger. I should have gone to the pharmacy today but didn't get the chance.

Apologies if I'm teaching egg sucking here. There's basically two types of over the counter hay fever medication. Those based on loratadine (including claritin) and those based on cetirizine. Both include big expensive brand names and cheap supermarket alternatives.

If one doesn't work it's well worth trying the other. Loratadine used to work for me but stopped a few years ago. For the last few years the cetirizine ones have worked well for me. Tesco's ultra cheapies are very effective for me now.

No I had no idea, I never got hayfever until the last two or three years. Thanks for the info, I'll pop into Tesco before work and see if I can get the other kind.

I have really bad hay fever this year. The over the counter stuff from Tesco, including a Beconaise spray weren’t doing much.
Spoke to pharmacist who recommended Allevia, drug is fexofenadine. Seems to be helping.

I'm a lifelong sufferer. I even have to take half a Claritin a day through the winter.
Yep - you need to find out which of the types of med works for you by trial and error.
Sodium cromoglicate eye drops are very good; just a drop in each eye every morning does the trick.

Condolences, I did the same a couple of months back and still get emotional when I see pics of him, even though I know it was the right thing to do.

Same here, but still get misty eyed 14 years later.
Cliche, but better a day too soon than a day too late.
Give em a good life for as long as they've got. Then get another one.
Just 7 months to go till retirement and the next one.

I've had the jab and been OK so far this year.
Just reminded me... Long time ago (35 years+) I saw the doctor about my severe hay fever. My usual doctor (oh! Those were the days) was on leave so I saw a locum who came with an interpreter

Anyhow. He gave me an injection of Kenalog. Well. After a couple of days, that seemed to cure everything I had at the time - squash elbow, stiff back, aching knee, but did it help with the hay fever? No way :(

Can't turn off permanently on the Kia but the button is on the steering wheel, press and hold for 5 seconds and it's off. Its become second nature
Our hire Puma we have at the moment on holiday has it switched on. I haven’t experienced it before and at first thought that there was something wrong with steering or wheel balancing. I found it a very odd sensation when not knowing. Not going to bother switching it off though as it is returned today.

Irritatingly I didn’t know how to engage the auto hold brake - with no switch I thought it didn’t have one. A bit of looking just now I find I just have to depress the brake for a few seconds to engage it.

Recycling and food waste bin day today..
Both out at 8pm yesterday
Recycling gets collected no problem.
The food bin is still sat outside..
The irritation?
To report a missed bin it is necessary to wait until after 6pm.....
So, at 6.17 precisely, I tried to report a missed bin......only to be told that I have to wait untill after 6pm to report it.....
One wonders if the Council offices, a smidge over a mile away, are actually in a different time zone...
Is the Revolution coming coz I've got a wall I can put mindless jerks up against......
