Random Irritations

The wife wants me to re- paint the tops of of our 2 keter storage boxes, AGAIN.
Last year I relented and painted them with Hammerite ( wild thyme ).
The wrong paint I think, now it's peeling off.
Any advice on what to use to repaint with a different make and slightly different shade.
Do I need to completely remove old paint. Or just rub it down and paint.
Plasticote spray paint. Rub back old paint and to create a key for the spray.

Mother in law has had dementia for the last 10 years, nil by mouth and been told there's nothing else the docs can do. Whoever described it as the longest goodbye, wasn't wrong.
My ex wife from 50 years ago has dementia, at her 80th birthday last week she didn't recognise me, her daughter, any of her grand or great grand children.
But she did think Daryn our 34 year old grand son was actually me.

Being first asked at work to cover an American role on a temporary basis. Then being told it was permanent. Then being told I have to switch to American hours, 2pm to 10pm UK time. So no more evening golf or social life.
But hey I was given a choice. Do it or you're out of a job.
Nice eh?
And taking it to HR might be a short-term win but would still "find myself surplus to requirements" when the next headcount review comes around.

They are the equivalent to ghd which are supposed to be very very good and very expensive 😉👍

Not anymore apparently, Still very expensive but quality has dropped massively. Wife now has shark ones.

If you want really silly prices, look what Dyson charge for their hair styling products.

Not so much an irritation as downright heartbreaking.

My fiancé received a text this morning from one of her best friend's mum telling her that her best friend had passed away last night. Reasons currently unknown but she had been suffering from seemingly minor illnesses recently that were never fully diagnosed.

She was just 34 years old - leaves behind a little 18 month old lad and had just got engaged a couple of weeks ago.

Not sure why I'm sharing this really but just needed to.

Just devastating.

With news like that you need to unload somewhere. Here is a good a place as any, fairly anonymous, sympathetic ears. Always better than bottling it up.

Terrible news.

How awful and how shocking for everyone concerned. Thoughts to your fiance. I lost my best friend in similar fashion too many years ago to even contemplate - miss her every day.

I watch quite a bit of cricket from the England & Wales YouTube account. Great highlights, usually, around 45mins. They’ve started uploading longer vids. I clicked on one last night expecting it would be done by 11:30pm. 1:45am it finished.

All my fault, and it wouldn’t be fair to criticise E&W. I’m the irritation in this one

Wow, you've had a lucky escape.
Buying your wife a mundane everyday appliance like a hairdryer as a present is asking for trouble.

(My wife tells me the story of when her dad bought her mum a vacuum cleaner for her birthday. It didn't go down well).
Years ago I fell over and badly bruised my nose and had two black eyes. We were at a friends house for a party and the mother of one of my other half's friends came up to me and asked me what had happened. I said that I had bought my good lady an (ironing) iron for Christmas and .............. 👊
The look on her face was priceless. My missus saw her looking odd at me and came over and then had to clarify exactly what had happened and that is was nothing to do with her.
