Random Irritations

We have been told (and signs say same) don't save sunbeds with towels

Father in law did so this morning.. they moved them off.. I was like yes I told you don't do it ...

He left his towel whilst we went lunch .. they moved it

Apparently it's ignorant people who shouldn't keep moving his towel

Erm no it's a pompous twit who should obey the rules of the place we staying at the signs are clear

Love a resoert that moves towels that are reserving sunbeds (as well as moving old books and magazines that people use to make it look like they are about and then you later see them using a kindle). The shocked expression and outrage when people have parked their stuff at 6.30 in the morning to find it gone when they pitch up and luchtime is hilarious.

Exactly, he was first to moan about people doing it .. but it's fine if he does it?

Don't be a twit abroad. Respect their country. We are in the apartment complex attached to the hotel so lots of Spanish people have holiday homes here .. they don't need his typical I'm English I can do what I want attuide

Altho in same breath everyone is so blind. Amount of times people just barge the kids out the way at dinner .. it's like have you never seen food before? Queues that way

Last holiday was heaven, literally nobody tried to reserve a lounger and everyone seemed to like a lie in as well. You could get up at 9.00 and not a single one was taken.

One before was even better, though a but pricey, every room was alllocated two lounger and a bali bed on the beach for the whole of the stay.

Of course there are some that need to be held to account for their inactions, but likewise we view the NHS and nurses in particular with a reverence that perhaps we shouldn’t, considering the number of serial killers that have been in that profession.

Ok, I’ll bite on this one. Making it an either or judgement is wrong. There are good and bad clinical staff but there’s a real danger in pointing fingers at the profession. And there’s a million miles between someone who is putting their coat on 5 mins before finishing time and a serial killer.

I would put money on virtually every single member of the clinical/nursing staff, especially in the acute areas, works beyond their finishing time at least once every week. It’s impossible to walk off the unit/theatre halfway through a procedure, and that procedure can happen at any time when they’re on shift. Don’t pee off 99.99% of clinical staff.

Following the Beverley Allott inquiry/Lord Clothier report, early 90’s, there were a multitude of recommendations and changes introduced, along with significant changes to how medical equipment is manufactured and operated. Beverley Allott was a nurse at a hospital in Grantham who deliberately killed a number of patients. I’m going back 30yrs - apologies if I’m being vague.

Apart from the serial killer, who got it wrong? Could/should the senior clinicians have put their foot down sooner? Until we know all the fact, don’t even go there. Seriously, seriously, seriously support the staff who will now be feeling (unfairly) guilty and very vulnerable. As for some of the senior managers… tar and feather.

Think it does come down to cost.. this place wasn't cheap cheap but wasn't exclusive expensive

My father in law is a massive holiday snob. He thinks he should go away and be treated like a king .. do what he wants all time no considering others about

He doesn't get a "family" holiday, where the kids come first and this is a great kids resort. All inclusive so they can get plenty of food and we fit around them

I feel for my mother in law if me and wife have to go sort something for the kids she's basically looking after 4 children.. I guess he can wipe his own bum which is a positive

I’ve move other people’s towels in the past if it’s clear they aren’t using the sun beds.

The hotel were were just at had clear signs saying no reserving sun beds or chairs, we were told the same at check in. Yet at 7am every morning there was a queue of people ready with their towels.

The pool attendants watch them like a hawk and after an hour of no one using the bed, the towels were removed.

I can be a holiday snob but even then do not expect that kind of treatment.

Was never more wound up than on one resort where people could hire 'butlers' for their stay who dressed in shirt and tie, brought them drinks and treats wherever they were, reserved loungers for them, got them reservations and 3 or 4 resort restaurants so they had a choice etc. Whilst my main issue was that it could be at best politely described and politically insensitive, it encouraged guests to try and lord it up over everyone else there and it was simply awful.

Insanity can come dressed in the most mundane and unlikely clothes.
And they walk among us.
Some are driven to find positions of influence where they attempt to see their extremely outlandish thoughts become some sort of reality to them.
In very rare cases - human tragedies occur - or economies are ruined.
Identifying them and stopping them before crimes are committed is impossible to do in a free society.
All we ever do is rake over the consequences and apportion blame.
If we ever get to a point of understanding that horrible distortions of the mind could happen to all of us, then some progress might be made to avoid these tragedies.
Far easier to label people as as simply "evil" - then no more thought has to be given.

Today however - justice will be done according to our laws and our understanding of human nature in the 21st century. I shall lose no sleep over the full-life tariff.

Luck of the draw with the driver. The Yodel driver who is allocated our village is superb. Polite, friendly, efficient, knows all the places where it is OK to leave parcels depending on size and the weather. Could not ask for better.

In that case, a diary reminder is the thing. Now there is no tax disc to give a reminder, the responsibility is that of the car owner to ensure their vehicle is taxed, insured and MOT'd.

The responsibility has always been the driver, maybe reminders should cost £5 and then if people want them they can pay and anyone else can use either a diary or a phone to set a reminder

All the advances In tech are brought to a halt by human behaviour

Just got on their App and got a picture
They left it propped up against the door.....Next door......
Either they've taken it in (they're out now) or someone's nicked it.....
I don't know....#38 vs #40...I suppose if you look for long enough you can see a difference
