Random Irritations

They are so scary, we had a remote villa in Portugal and were woken at 2AM by the fire brigade, had to evacuate quickly, told to grab a blanket and passports only and get out quick! Luckily no major damage as the wind changed and they got it under control, but wow that was scary.
I think I’ll be giving Southern Europe a miss in July and August in future.

I think I’ll be giving Southern Europe a miss in July and August in future.

It’s seriously hot here now, and we’re not in Aug yet. We were in high 40’s in the shade yesterday, over 50* in the sun mid afternoon. Granada province is predicted to get close to 60* today.

Why?
When I was at school, we did the same wind down at the end of the final term. And I left school in 1982.
Only because the school moan if you take kids out of school as it affects their schooling yet it is ok for the teachers to have a feet up day and put a dvd on. Isn't this the same? Come on surely you could see this?

We actually got fined for taking him out of school for 1wk in June.
I refused to pay it & got threatened with court & a bigger fine 🤷‍♂️

Didn’t get a penny out of me.

They have god knows how many inset days & strike days, yet they were “worried” the kids wouldn’t catch up after COVID.

Always time for Mr Bean tho 🤦‍♂️😂.

Rant over.
Well done!!!! Wish I'd seen this post before replying to the other daft question.

Is the weather really as hot across Europe as is being claimed? 🤔

I’d never seen 46* in the shade here before. I have now. Yes around Sevilla, which is called Spain’s frying pan but not here. Never seen 50* displayed on the Farmacia’s sign before but did 2 days ago.

Aircon usually goes on around 9pm. It’s been going on from mid morning in the last week.

Those figures are a bit screwy, pharmacy temps are not to be trusted. A quick Google says the top temp in Spain ever is either 47.8 in 1976 or 47.6 in 2021.

The hottest temperature ever recorded on earth is 56.7, death valley in 1913.

Stil, no doubt it is still unpleasantly toasty 😰
