Sorry guys I feel like I have to re-state the post I replied to

Nothing there about the rights or wrongs of the opinion/comment. Just that he's crying about the UK while living overseas. So its either irritating to Phil because the fella lives overseas or because he is Ratcliffe.
I (perhaps naively) didn't think it was the individual (Man U owner) that Phil objected to but because a previous UK resident and taxpayer was now living overseas.
In hindsight I suppose it could be the former reason, in which case my entire point is moot

The post was clear for me

He is crying about how the UK is run currently whilst he sits in his tax haven in Monaco

That for me is irritating

I don't currently work in UK but for decades I did, and paid tax. Phil reckons that means no opinions from me on UK matters until I move back

Having a pop at expats is not uncommon, and often ignorant. Depending on who your employers were in the U.K. an expat may well still pay tax in the U.K. But most importantly for me, my family live in the U.K., and I want what’s best for them.

Bizarrely, I can also vote in U.K. elections even though I’m a few days short of 8 years out of the U.K. Is not a vote an expression of an opinion? U.K. law says I can express that opinion.

So I was right, phew that’s a relief
You’re irritated that an expat has an opinion/view on UK matters (regardless if they’re right/wrong) that’s absolutely fine and you’re obviously entitled to hold that irritation

But as an expat I too have opinions/views on UK matters and I’m not really very sorry if it irritates ppl
