Random Irritations

I have with regards to packaging. Not other stuff so far, as far as I can remember. Saying that, it becomes white noise filling in these forms so I may well have done and just not noticed.

I do wonder if anyone reads this guff? I'm tempted one time to give anti answers just to see if anyone picks up on it :ROFLMAO:
I had the latest one, wanted parts, fuel, office costs all dates , for where, for who, how much.
Then also wanted targets I was setting to help "them" meet their targets.

Never mind they leave their office lights on 24 hrs a day, every day of the year....

BTW, they got a blanket figure, that was it.

Wow, not had that one yet. That sounds a joy to complete.

I'm with you, they will get a cursory figure from me, nothing more.

Your State Pension age is 67
Our records show you will reach State Pension age in August 2030
You do not need to contact us. We will send a letter 4 months before that date to tell you how to claim.....

Jesus H Christ........why are they telling me now that I'm going to get a letter in 4 years and 5 months..???
How many letters like this get sent t out every day?
How much does it all cost?

Mrs H gets hers at 66yrs 4mths, next sept. The issue of her not getting it at 60, and being pushed back so far, is mmm er loud for her.

If I want some peace I just mention she has to wait another 10 months. He goes off on one and I get to glaze over knowing I’ll be left alone for a good half hour.

She might be a bit young to be a WASPI but by eck she makes a good Rottweiler when she’s in the mood.

Whilst I agree it is not the best business practice, this sort of thing has been known about for years and people should be more aware of it and shop around, ring up, etc. Not always easy for some people but to put all the blame on the companies is a bit simplistic and also a bit wrong.
Note I did not say preying on normal people with internet access etc., I said the elderly and vulnerable - these are the people that they are ripping off. This is what makes the practice odious and this is what I blame the companies for.
I am also fairly certain that they are well aware that some of their customers are, for whatever reason, paying ridiculously higher amounts for exactly the same product.

As per Voyager it is all about the WASPi women who did not bother to read all the notifications that went out generally within the press etc.

Can someone confirm whether it's Black Friday today?
I seem to have missed out on 3 trillion emails, texts and adverts......FOMO.......not.......
For a nice change, I got an email this morning from The Pi Hut (seller of Raspberry Pi and related stuff):
"Today is Black Friday. 20% off everything. Just one day".

The government has NEVER written to me to tell me the date I will receive a state pension even though it has changed a few times. However that information is a Google click away (and has been since the 1990s) and changes in my retirement dates have been announced decades in advance and featured heavily on the national news. Exactly like the waspi women then. Do I deserve some compo?

A lot of the WASPi cases feature women who claimed that they researched and planned their retirement finances in minute and careful detail and had their meticulous plans disrupted, but then at the same time claim to have been totally unaware the most basic facts about retirement age that had been in place and publicised extremely widely for basically 20 years. All built on the premise that they believe they should enjoy the financial support of the state pension for an average of 10 years longer than an identical man of the same age receives (women live 5 years longer than men on average, remember)

They’re possibly the least deserving injustice/compensation campaign ever.

Why did you try to be clever and go straight to the CEO? If you had just followed the proper process then all that could have been avoided.

Most elderly wouldn't have been in your position as they would have rung up and cancelled. No need for any court action.
One of the Seniors at my club (he's 80) has had problems with his wifes Porsche
A sensor had gone in the automatic gearbox. The car is ten years old and only had 36000 miles on the clock.

He contacted Porsche and was told a new gearbox would be needed at a cost of £18000. His arguement was that a prestige car should not need a new gearbox after only 36000 miles. Porsche offered him £1800 towards the cost.

After much tooing and frowing with Porsche he decided to contact the CEO.
Having been a CEO himself in his working life he knew how to put his point across.

It ended up with Porsche, as a good will gesture, giving him £8000 towards the cost.

So sometimes its worth contacting the CEO.

Best mark in my diary for three years time telling me to expect a letter in 4 years time telling me I'll be of pensionable age.

Agree, and in your case it was a last resort. In the previous example, the poster tried to prove how special and clever he was and went straight to the top without following the proper process, even when it was pointed out to him.

Once again Neilds, Tes "proper process" was only pointed out to me after I'd chosen to ask the CEO, of whom I was a customer. Tesco conceded that the person who rang me and generated a Default Notice had been officious.
"Special and clever"

Pressed send to soon.

Nothing "Special and clever" about that.
Just a simple means of tackling unfair practice.

What disturbs me most about this incident is that a failed sensor could not be replaced, but instead a new gearbox was required. WTF????
Remind me never to buy a Porsche (not that I could ever afford one).

When I worked in the service department of the car dealership (many, many years ago), it often said "R&R" on the work order. At that time it meant "remove and repair". Now it means "remove and replace".

For an high value item such as a gearbox, there should be a bench repair facility available. This may not be a Porsche facility but an ‘affiliated’ gearbox specialist. Hence it has a value, and that value should be offset against the cost of a replacement box for the customer. The gearbox isn’t going directly to scrap.

This is the kicker. You could afford a Porsche, you really could. The key question is, could you afford to run and maintain it? Possibly is the answer but then the question is, do you want to spend that much of your income on running a car?

My former BiL mixed in circles where flash cars were very much a thing. He saw this happen a lot, buy a 6yr old Aston, Porsche etc no issue. Run it 😳. He loved splashing money on cars but even he was put off by watching his mates pour money away. I was grateful for the lesson, it prevented me from ever getting carried away 😄

I was about to count up the number of Black Friday emails I've deleted over the past few days but when I looked at them there were so many that I couldn't be bothered to waste the time on them....

He went to a gearbox specialist who could replace the sensor before contacting the CEO.
Porsche would not supply the necessary part.
