Random Irritations

Ok this is a very random one

Commuters who use underground trains when they come into the station press the doors open button.

All underground services doors open when they get into platform. Those buttons haven't worked for 50 years ..

That was until the s stock came in and now you can re open doors if a train is waiting and they close to keep the air con in

However they open on their own! Stop pressing the darn thing

Someone was late approving my expenses claim so I'm going to be £200 short this month. 😠

Ask for a £200 advance of salary to compensate for their incompetence. Do that a few times and payroll will soon get their act together. If they won’t do it, raise a grievance based on hardship caused by……. It’s poor performance for this to happen.

Muppets at the end of our road dangerously parking on the corner of a junction so you can't pull out safely.

WE used to have a traffic warden and a police community officer. People parking like would get a ticket and then moan about it on the local FB page
Sadly with have neither the warden or the police any more.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after the world-famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall was felled overnight.

Officers from the national park are investigating after the tree, known as Robin Hood’s Tree, was found early today, Thursday, September 28.

Products that claim to do more than they actually do. Currently got a sore throat and taking Strepsils (other throat lozenges are available) which claim to be triple action. These 3 actions are:
  • Relieves pain
  • Fights infection
  • Soothes sore throats
Surely if you relieve pain then you sooth the throat so not really triple action, double at best.
They never mention the laxative effect in case people stop buying them.

All week I've been thinking the Ryder Cup starts at 7:30 tomorrow (and 11:30 on Sunday) and been planning my activities around that. It turns out that's European time. Why the hell are the English media outlets not listing the UK bloody time?? How stupid!

They've arrested a 16yr old. 16 o_O . How did he have the equipment, transport etc to get there and do that?
Unfortunately Chainsaws are much easier to get and use these days than ever.

I have a cordless DeWalt chainsaw myself (used for legal felled tree cutting), even with a 300mm bar it could still take down a large tree and it light weight.

A friend with a car would be the easy transport option.

What expenses are you having to claim back? We just use Pleo, so never have to spend my own cash.
It's just travel to and from work. They have this weird system where it's done by 'Zonal Allowance', we put in how many days we travelled and they add it to your pay slip. It's cack but I spent about 9 years not being eligible for expenses before this so at least it's something!

Decorating.

The most boring and messy thing imaginable. Hall and landing in progress. I wanted to pay someone to do it, but the madame said that's a waste of money and we should DIY.

In fairness to her, she's going more than her fair share, but what a pain. Nearly finished, thankfully!
Lived in my current house for 17 years. Every room has been DIYd at least once, including new bathroom and en-suite. Still getting around to starting the hall, stairs and landing 🤣

@Beezerk , have you seen the local news? The lovely Carol, might have a crush 😍, got positively angry about Sycamore Gap. Really good piece, heartfelt.
It was, even if the council leader who compared it to the JFK assassination was slightly OTT

Lots of rumours going around linking this to the recent eviction of a farmer from a nearby site, and his grandson being the lad in custody.
