Professional Golf

It's my view that Scheffler is a flat track bully, in the sense that he can dominate events where the conditions match his strengths, but Fitz likes Harbour Town and with that wind blowing yesterday it would have felt right at home having grown up playing golf around the hills of Sheffield and Yorkshire - when Scottie out drove him Matt had the perfect opportunity to put Schefflers nuts in a vice, which he duly did with that 4 iron.

Good win for Rahm and Legion XIII then in Mexico as well - lots of young talent near the top of the leaderboard who will hopefully see the OWGR points make an impact on their rankings.

Vamos Sithi.

It does help Matt that he’s been going there on holiday playing golf every year since he was 6.

A flat track bully that’s won 4 majors ?!

😂😂😂😂

No, no, no - he’s won at Augusta twice which is apparently not as flat a track as it looks on TV.

Pretty much all golfers have a type of course and layout that suits their game better than other courses. Martin Kaymer felt his power fade didn’t suit Augusta, saying that it’s a drawer’s course. It’s often been said that Rory’s high ball flight doesn’t suit Augusta.

Flat track bully? Harsh. The guy is a good golfer, especially on courses that suit his game. Calling someone a bully just because they can dominate fields is not a nice thing to say…

This genuinely reads like someone who didn’t watch it live and only saw the headline!

All of us on here were rooting for Fitzy and he nearly messed it up, yesterday was his worst round of the week and his failure to get a birdie after the 3rd hole and a poor chip ending up with a bogey on 18 let Scheffler in.

Absolute worldy of a 2nd shot on the first play off hole, but he shouldn’t of needed it.

2 World class golfers in a play off and it had absolutely nothing to do with hills around Yorkshire

Yeah, I know he nearly messed it up Paul. I was watching it. (y)

Scheffler put the pressure on him after having the honour after they both put their balls to the right of the green - Was it Radar who said that Matt probably played it into that position on purpose and that he'd be happy with where it was rather than risking going for the green, then Scottie turned the screws with an excellent shot that set up his par and forced an error out of Fitzy - who reciprocated the pressure on the play off hole.

As Fitzpatrick beat Scheffler, does that mean Fitzpatrick is a bigger bully? ;) :ROFLMAO:

Fitzy put pressure on himself by failing to get up and down from that position.

It was a poor chip, nothing to do with how Scheffler played the hole.
