We have an old Power Recliner from DFS. Unfortuately all the moving around, means the cable from the transformer to the chair has ripped. For life of me, I cant find a cable. It is a 2 pin male connector to a 5 pin male connector. I cut the cable and it has 7 thin cables inside!!. The cheapest option is to tape it up and leave it there. the thin cables are way too thin for putting WAGO connectors. Any idea where I can find these?

Correction... i just realised that the cable that snapped is not the one from the adaptor.. it looks like

Adaptor 2 pin goes into a 5 pin male
The female 5 pin goes into some sort of 2 way splitter. The 2 other wires
1) goes into the motor/hydraulics white colored pump.
2) goes back to the 2 button switch.

The cable that goes from the splitter to the 2-button switch is the one that snapped. No wonder I could not find something online. Now the challenge is that 2-button is sewn into the side of the recliner.. I cant find how I can replace that one.

I taped the 6 cables. The 7 cable seems to have nothing beneath the sheath!! so could not tape them together. Unfortunately, still not working...

28 volt DC 38watt, looks like its only telephone or alarm cable, i would just twist the corresponding coloured pairs together then crimp using straight through low volt car type crimps.

That’s what I thought .. I did join 6 of the 7 cables .. the 7th one has nothing inside it to crimp!! Still can’t get it to work..

There's probably an internal fuse thats blown when the cable was cut. the 7th cord is probably a spacer pull cord for stripping the cable back.

The IEEE/ANSI symbol would indicate there's a 50amp instantaneous cutout inside the box.
That's probably popped, will need to be replaced.

It does have 4 screws.. so would be worth a try. I might need to find a clamp meter to check if there is power in the system. (or is there any other way to do it?)

Make sure it's unpluged from the wall, have a look see whats there, as Lazkir says there should be some sort of cut out, you'll need a continuity tester or multi meter to check, remember keep the power OFF.

If it helps the 7 pin and or the 5 pin connectors are standard DIN connectors and should be easy to replace with an inline pair

So did a few things.
1) There is a 5 Amp fuse in the socket. I had it checked out and it is fine
2) Opened the big black box. Unsurprisingly it is only a step down transformer (see photo).
3) The cable from the transformer splits into 2.. one to the motor and the second to the switch
4) The motor and the hydraulic is one unit (white in colour in the photo). It has a do not open written on it - so skeptic about opening it.
5) The recliner is in the deployed mode. I need to get it back into the 'sit' mode. I dont really need it to recline but need the space to sit on it. I had a look at the mechanism underneath and looks a bit Heath Robinson to me..
If i can get away with it, then i can get another summer with the sofa before picking up a new one in the next DFS winter sale (or somehting like that)

I would've thought there would be a low voltage or heat cut out of some kind on the printed circuit on the right hand side in the first picture. I'm not too good with the electronic side of things.

To get it back down work out which wires go to the motor and what voltage and connect a battery or two or a power supply with sufficient ooomph to power the motor.

The label on the motor should show its voltage and current rating.

Just tested the output from the step down transformer... looks like there is power coming out of it. so something must be further amiss down the line. The motor burning is the worst case scenario as it is enclosed within the hydraulics casing. Will need a different way to find it
