Galvin's and rain gloves, job done
If you can find them. 'Gorilla Grip' is good. It's a bit like a 'tak rag' that decorators might use. Drummers use them to stop sweaty hands sliding on drum sticks, and pole dancers use them.
Just dab the cloth over your grips, and hands and job done.
Playing in the rain doesn't bother me but don't like strong wind and rain together. Cancelled last nights 9 holes due to strong gusts of wind plus torrential rain. Gusts of 40mph forecast for when we're due out tomorrow. I've had two days without any golf so it's going to have to be really bad to stop me going out.
Forget the umbrealla, get a good set of water proofs, a water proof hat and some macwets.
Go prepared for it to be horrible, make sure you are warm and comfortable in the clobber you choose. 70% of the field will be so busy bleating about the weather and fannying about with umbrellas and drying grips that they are already out of the comp.
Just suck it up and go play.
Weren't you the one who got a tad miserable at woodhall spa, in a light shower?
