I can find the G15 at AG and it looks pretty good IMO, still to try it as I want to compare side by side with the i15 when AG get them back in (chap said they were all at Golf show and due back this week)

Anyone got either or tried both?

From what I've heard a lot depends on how good a driver you are.
If you're decent with the driver then the i15 will probably be fine. It's fade-bias a little - supposedly so the "better" player can swing hard and not fear hooking it.....should also launch lower.
G15 is a much more forgiving beast but will launch higher with more spin. If you're at all inconsistent then the G is the one to bring to back on line.
And if you slice then keep away from the "i"..........

There's always exceptions of course but that's the general consensus....

As I got better and better my G15 went from a high fade to a low draw, the only thing that stopped it ballooning was the shaft I had custom fitted.

It worked for me off 12 but I had a steepish swing that did not translate well into wood play and the G15 saved me a bit.

Thanks guys, liking even more the sound of the i15, just got to try them now and the stock shafts as its not interchangeable shafts

I play off 13 and had the G10 K15 and then G20.

It depends how far you hit the ball and your shape. As mentioned previously if you have a bit of a fade the G20 is for you

@OP If you dont mind me asking how come you are not looking at the 20 series? I did not think Ping discounted its equipment even after a new series comes out.

you mean the G20 and i20? just price basically, the G5 and G15/i15 get excellent reviews and not silly money as they are discounted by the retailers afaik, if not then second hand seems great value for money

Just to echo what Imurg said....

I use the i15 but i didnt buy it until i got some confidence playing a driver...I used my i15 3 wood for ages before one day getting the i15 for a demo and never gave it back.......

If you catch it out of the screws it wants to stay in the air forever.....But.......As Murg has said, If you have a tendency to slice then steer clear....
Its not that its hard to hit....It really isnt as long as you dont try and kill the ball.....But if your off the toe or the heel you'll loose considerable distance on shots.....

I havent tried the G15 simply because i hit my own pretty well and i dont want to be second guessing my decision to stay with it....It aint broke so it dont need fixin' :)

I gamed a Titleist 907 D2 8.5* with a low launch graffaloy red, when I connected it was outstanding, usual flight was lowish penetrating draw, back flight was duck hook and the shaft felt dead, recently bought a Mizuno MP 630 FT and hit the sweetspot pretty good but it's a high flighting fading shaft/ head combo so looking for a more penetrating flight with a responsive shaft.

Ive just been told off a Mate, who is a Ping stockist, that they have been offered a batch of Highly Discounted G15 drivers and fairways, arriving soon
So I presume others will be getting same deals, so wait for the Price Crash

interesting, he'll know when 'soon' actually is then if he's a Ping stockist, I'm impatient but dont want to buy in a week and find its next week??

He just said, hed placed his order, and should be delivered in the Next couple of weeks......
I would Presume somewhere like American Golf will probably get involved, they normally 'Bulk Buy' when theres a clearance going on..........??

ok thanks Moogie

i have the k15 driver and the the g20 3w , both lovely clubs, k15 is draw bias nice high flight good sound , huge sweet spot and is forgiving on miss hits , g20 3w is sleek looking, forgiving , nice high ball flight and very very straight

both top clubs, g20 hybrids are spot on as well

Dunno if its relevant.

I was custom fit for a Ping driver so I tried the K15, G15 and I15.

Before I started I expected, and wanted, to go for the G15, but the spin numbers on the G15 were all to high, however the K15 and the I15 were much better and pretty similar.

I wanted to go for the I15 coz it's a beautiful club and a sweet hit goes forever, but I was told to go for the K15 coz I'm crap.

I went with the K15

I made the right choice

I had a Ping G10 Driver and absolutely loved it. When the G15 first came out I was stupid enough to think it would be "better". It had to be didn't it? New technology, and all the adverts said it was straighter, longer, more forgiving. So I sold my G10 and bought one. Murph commented that it sat "closed". My pro said it didn't. Murph was right. I always found myself up the left hand side of the fairway (if I was lucky) or in the deep crap on the left (if I wasn't so lucky). Bad move buying that G15.
I was lucky enough to win a competition on here for a Ping driver fitting. So I went to Gainsborough, tried a G15 again and kept drawing it, tried a K15 and hit the most god awful hooks I had ever hit in my life, picked up the i15 and loved it. It's a great driver. I'm now tinkering with a Cobra S2 which I'm enjoying. Different shaft which I get a slightly higher ball flight with, which I wanted. But I won't sell my i15.

Cheers Smiffy, the G10 does get good reviews, a certain Mr Westwood I believe is still using a G10, hmmmm decisions decisions lol
