Nothing personal Lawrence but think I'd prefer the german girls ;)

Joking aside....yeah, very welcome to join us

Maybe I will!

Are re you doing Saunton next year?

Yep....so will little John, Merv79 and someone else on here mentioned it as well but I can't remember who. You up for St Enodoc 1st Sunday in Sept as well?

Yeah probably. Plan on entering more now that I've quite Am. football.

St George's hill is my top priority

Have played in quite a few Opens, and Golf Empire is a great site to subscribe too.
Just be careful Robin because not all Seniors Opens are from age 55, some you can't enter unless you're 60.
I will try to enter a few this year, but have to get my handicap active again.
In the past I have played at Littlestone (seniors team event), Blatchington (seniors pairs), Dale Hill (seniors team), Tyrrells Wood (Seniors pairs, we were clubhouse leaders until the final pair came in  ), and Orsett GC (Essex) (seniors singles) which was a really gorgeous course.
I think the average price paid was around £35.00 and each one (except Littlestone) included coffee/bacon rolls and a two course meal. Fantastic value for money.
I prefer playing in Seniors competitions as the guys that are playing are usually down on distance off the tee but have cracking short games. You can pick up a good few tips from 'em and don't feel overawed by young bucks clattering the ball 300 yards plus!

Pretty much got my long list whittled down to a shortlist and a few confirmed definites.

July - Hollinwell
Aug - Fulford
Sep - Sleaford (probably)
Oct - Lindrick

Was really hoping to do Sherwood too but my wallet is only so big.
Separate reason looking forward to them this year is that my usual playing partner (and now myself) are moving to new separate clubs (both nearer respective homes) so these will be regular chances to catch up and get a game in.

Sherwood opened theirs today. I've entered a 4BBB comp on Sun 21st June, looking forward to playing it off the whites again!

Golf clubs around the country will start to announce their Open Competitions for 2015 from January 1st.

Are there any you particular look out for and enter immediately?

Are there any you've always wanted to play and will do this year?

The prices to play in some of these Open Competitions are excellent value and with a chance to win some prizes is just an added bonus.

I'll be looking out for Wallasley & Moortown as always but I'm going to have a pop at Sherwood Forest and possibly Woodhall Spa this year also in their singles, but now I'm the ripe old age of 55 (I know I don't look it), I can enter Senior Competitions so I might look for some geographical partners around the country and look to enter some Pairs Competitions.

I play with yer down this way fish , but no football chat ok

Yes, it's the Ted Jarman, Sun 6th September this year, absolute bargain.

I've put a few Pairs and Team of 4 events on Arrange A Game thread, there's a pairs at West Lancs for £30 each

Let me know if you fancy it Glyn and I could be tempted depending on date.....

Fancy going back there, only played it in winter before.
will do mate.

Never played it and LB keeps going on how tough it is.

I may as move over to the north west as we are all at SAOL the weekend before.
