Haha..... I'm in Leeds & the signage on the A1 suggests that I'm in the Midlands as pointing one way it's THE NORTH & the other THE SOUTH.... locals don't agree though, but then they're all in dreamland as fans of the LUFC- 'Cloggers Club' :eek::cautious:;):)

But it is…

I’d say from the Watford Gap to Chesterfield is the Midlands — Sheffield and all of Yorkshire, most definitely is the North

From Berwick-Upon-Tweed to Manchester / Liverpool is a heck of a distance…but historically, culturally it never has been described as ‘the midlands’

it's what you call thos eplaces, but not where they geographically are, which is the context here, and especially not in a UK context which was what was originally being discussed.

I’m not really too much of a fan of RS, but the money behind the channel produces excellent quality videos in terms of production values (if you like looking at new / different golf courses 😍)

Yes it is, lovely set up, beautifully kept courses. Green fees have jumped in the last couple of years but if you can throw some numbers at them..................
 
Historically, this type of idea descends into everyone just talking geography, most of whom wont even go anyway.

The best advice? Get a northern captain (or organiser) and a southern one, get prices from 2 venues, toss a coin to see where its held this year and if its successful have the return in the other half next year.

Simples - no I'm not offering to be a captain/organiser, just seen good ideas like this floated in the past and it ends up getting binned through geographical considerations/ arguments.
