Not sure about "where I'm from" having anything to do with my comments about Justin.
I'm glad he won and hope his career progresses from here.
Two things are abundantly clear though...you've absolutely no idea what Rory did after signing his card and Justin should have gone to the practice ground immediately after signing his.

You really need to get with the programme and stop arguing black is white for the sake of it.

Rory walked off the 18th green after a bogie(in a huff) and didn't once acknowledge the crowd. He had kids screaming at him and he blanked them out. He was out the tournament at that stage,

As I said if that had been big leftie he would have at least thanked them.

Justin who has more reason to stay in the zone was high fiving the kids and thanking them. Where is the arguement in that? I thank you kind sir!

That would be your programme then I take it.
Anyway lucky we're got such fantastic players and the entertainment (including Rory huffing) was first class.
We'll agree to differ....bedtime!!

Didn't we have a similar thread on this a month or so back. The general consensus back then was the same as now, most players seem to put their card in, then go back to the fans.

He'd just played some pretty good golf over the last 2 days to put himself in contention after a pretty poor 1st round left him some way off the pace. He was obviously disappointed over the last 3 holes and as he walked off the 18th, he appeared to be in a world of his own, he even walked past his own mum, until something was said and he stopped to give her a hug. I don't think Rory's turned bad after a week at number 1, I don't have an issue if he puts his card in before going to see the fans, if he doesn't go and see the fans after, that's a different kettle of fish. I didn't stay up to watch the last 10 or 15 mins, don't know whether they showed coverage of that or not......

You have to treat players the same people moaned at woods majorly for this behaviour but because mcilroy is British then we have a changed attitude and say I'm sure he went out after signing. Realistically we don't have a clue what the different players do once they are finished.

I wasnt really having a pop, more tongue in cheek. He's a smashing lad and a great golfer, just thought he was a bit off considering it was his first of many, i hope, tournaments as world #1 and all those kids were screaming for him and he totally blanked them!

It seems to be the norm now that to get his card checked, the player has to walk through a tunnel of screaming kids all wanting his ball/glove/cap/ anything really.
We all know what could happen if a mistake is made with the card so let them finish their work first then do the PR bit.
A little wave wouldn't go amiss though

So does number one in the world mean you don't have to sign autographs for all the young kids shouting you and waving caps desperate for an autograph.

Not even an acknowledgment, nod or even a look. Head down and walk on by to the scorers tent. Very very poor taste IMO.

Watched him on TV saturday evening signing loads, very patient and tried to sort all the spectatators out, as said before perhaps he needed to sign card first?

Why do the American spectators all seem to want to touch hands and scream at players, at every opportunity. I would avoid them until after the round, as you never know where their hands have been.:mmm: I am sure the majority of players sign autographs after the round.

Good to see Rory get such a good reception on the first tee though. Obviously a popular lad.
