Err read it again. The American clocks change THIS weekend and ours are the week after.

Really not getting this are you 🤔 🤷‍♂️

American clocks changing so American kick off times earlier so earlier TV times in UK

Feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. I'm really not getting this at all it seems.

The UK clocks change this weekend, they go back 1 hour so the games will be 5pm Sunday due to the UK clocks going back but the US ones staying the same. The US clocks then go back the following week meaning the UK games are then back to 6pm.

But they still find a way to lose 🤣
Typical Dolphins. Offense decides to play well and the defense turns to crap. It’s always the same story, can’t ever play a complete game on both sides.

Luckily I didn’t watch it as I was waiting on Sum41 coming on stage so not that upset with the collapse. Just indifferent to them yet again.

Any Given Sunday, the mantra of the NFL. How do the Ravens go from looking like world beaters for five straight weeks to losing to the lowly (ie crap) Cleveland Browns? And to Jameis the Turnover Machine Winston?
The Chicago Bears set a new record for the worst way to ever defend a Hail Mary.
The Bucs failed on their Hail Mary although if you watch the highlights, a state trooper at the back of the endzone gets wiped out as the play goes long. 0-5 now in their last five throwback games - junk the orange again please.
Detroit are peaking too early, the Pats peaked only because it was against the J-E-T-S and Carolina are just so bad right now.
And the last time Geno was good at anything, Dexy's Midnight Runners were singing about him on TOTP in 1980.

Oh and "National tight ends day" can just go and do one.

We did have a contestant for the dumbest NFL fan of all time on our post game TV show Sunday after the Bucs' loss to Atlanta.
The Bucs were trailing 31-19 when they scored a touchdown. And kicked the PAT to make it 31-26 as a two pointer would do not good and hence needed to score a TD on their last drive.
This dumb-ass calls in and starts ripping the coach a new one for not going for two claiming the Bucs would only have needed a fieldgoal to tie.
We tried to explain they had already kicked the PAT but he was adamant that a touchdown was worth seven points and that they could have gone for two.
At first we thought he was just winding us up but then we realised he was serious. He then claimed he had been watching the game all his life, had been a Buc fan since day one in 1976 and knew the game inside out.
We had to cut him off and then just sat back to watch all the comments coming in from people just incredulous on what they had heard.

And another egoistical receiver costs his team a touchdown by dropping the ball in celebration before he crosses the goal-line. Naturally a Jet but somehow did not affect the result. Desean Jackson did it a couple of times during his career and the Bucs had a fringe player who nearly cost us a game a couple of years ago for doing it. He was released. You've only got to hang on to it for another second until you are in the endzone but no these "look-at-me" prima donnas keep doing it because they are stupid.

Anyway, with no Bucs game until Monday night when we play the Kansas City Swifties, I'll find something else Sunday to get on my soapbox about although I do get a chance to watch the Lightning live in Winnipeg at 8pm UK time. Or I could just watch the fifth inning of Game 5 of the World Series a few more times ;-)

Player transfer stuff -

Can someone explain players moving teams like why Titans let Derrick Henry go? That one went under the radar for me as an enthusiast but not a devotee of NFL.

Was it end of contract so he chose to leave or did Titans let him go after a drop in form after injuries and perhaps turning 30 or a trade for a player the Titans needed more?

Whats was the sale or trade value of Henry moving if they relase that kind of info?

Seemed like such a key player I thought, one of the best running backs around.

With Tyreek Hill at Miami was that just him looking for more money at Kansas and they told him to jog on or was there more to it, seems like he missed a great legacy opportunity by moving from a winning team.

TY

Henry was due a $12M base salary in 2023 from the 4-year deal he signed with the Titans in 2020. Running backs tend to fall off a cliff in terms of performance when they reach his age and mileage. He was looking for a contract extension which the Titans were not prepared to give and understandably. The cap hit from releasing him was negligible so they decided to move on. There was definitely no trade interest in him at all.

The only team who seriously pursued him were the Ravens and this was an ideal spot for him. A backfield committee with a QB who runs a lot as well. He is not utilised as a workhorse and hence his performance is way in excess of what most NFL front offices and analysts expected.

Tyreek Hill was allowed to leave KC for three reasons. One was the amount of money he wanted. Secondly, the Chiefs found a mug prepared to offer up a ton of draft picks. Thirdly, he is an absolute a-hole in the locker room so addition by subtraction.
