Baltimore looked very very good on MNF against the Bucs. Afraid my guys are screwed now. We lost WR1 Mike Evans to a serious hamstring injury and then WR2 Chris Godwin to a gruesome ankle dislocation at the end. Without both of them, Baker Mayfield will be throwing the ball to the opposition as he did quite a bit in the last two games.

You can have Minshew for free if it helps 🤣

Gardner Minshew III where the digits stand for the turnovers he has each game? I can see the Bucs going after WR Mike Williams from the Jets on a season rental before the trade deadline next week. Right now I'm fifth on the receiver depth chart.

I guess it would depend on the situation of the sale.

An interesting story from the Colts purchase in 1972. The then-Baltimore Colts were owned by Carroll Rosenbloom but he wanted to own the LA Rams. He could not have both so he made a deal with Robert Irsay where the latter would buy the Rams and then exchange franchises plus $4M to avoid tax liabilities. Rosenbloom was quoted as saying, "when you're a millionaire in Los Angeles, no-one cares because there are loads of them. When you're a millionaire and own the Rams, you're truly special". It's an ego trip. Rosenbloom drowned in 1979 and his widow Georgia took over the franchise, married her bit-on-the-side and then drove the franchise into the ground (and then to St.Louis) before selling out.

Another frustrating loss for Miami and another completely inept offensive performance. At some point McDaniel has to start holding some players accountable for their repeated failures and bench them or his seat is going to become very, very warm. The team is making the same mistakes week after week. We have a TE (Julian Hill) who commits multiple penalties per game, we have a special teams that really is "special" and we have backup QB's who are all terrified to actually throw the ball. With the game on the line at 4th and 2 we got to watch Tim Boyle throw the ball 10 yards out of bounds as apparently he wasn't aware it was 4th down. Another game which they really should have won if they could just stop shooting themselves in the foot.

McDaniel isn't completely blameless either as he is still making head scratching calls at exactly the wrong time but players have to execute better. It may have been a terrible call to call a fullback dive on 1st and 10 at the opponents 13 yard line when you have a fresh RB in the game who is gashing them but at the same time you don't expect your FB to fumble the ball either.

An interesting point about Miami is that this season every QB that has started a game behind this OL has ended up being injured. That's Tua, Thomspon and Huntley have all been knocked out of games behind this line. Last season the GM (Chris Grier) famously (in Miami fan circles anyway) told the media that "you guys are more worried about the OL than we are". The OL stunk last year and their approach this year after their best interior lineman left was to replace him with his backup and to draft a backup LT in the 2nd round in what looks to have been an awesome draft for interior OL.

I'm fast approaching the watch Redzone every Sunday stage as it's painful watching these Dolphins.
The disappointing this is that MM actually called a half decent game (apart from the 1st down FB dive ) but for some reason, neither Huntley or Boyle pulled the trigger, as there were numerous opportunities to get the ball to open receivers but pulled the ball down.

The Oline, in terms of running the ball, has actually been better than decent, particularly Brewer at centre. The head scratcher is that McDaniel isn't playing Jaylen Wright (as he has looked good) but is instead sending Achane between the tackles when he weighs 20+lbs less than Wright. In terms of pass protection, it is ok if the QB takes his shot but they haven't.

I don't mind the Patrick Paul pick, as Armstead hasn't ever played 17 games and this was a high ceiling pick to play 1 or 2 games this year and then likely take over next year. The negligence is the Bradley Chubb trade, as we gave up a load of picks & a huge salary, when we had Van Ginkle at a fraction of the cost (& we couldn't resign him this year whilst Chubb is on IR), the drafting of Tindel, Ezukanma and Cam Smith over the last 3 years with highish draft picks who can't get on the field and probably the drafting on two OLB's this year, one of which has been inactive all year until this week when that 5th round pick could have been utilized on a guard (the jury is still out on Chop but he has been chucked into the mix probably too early due to the Chubb & Philips injury - I wonder if they could have traded down & still picked him up & also got another pick).

Tua's press conference today. I've never seen him be so hostile and peeved off at these before. He's usually all smiles and joking around but he was pretty aggressive in this one. Interesting that he said he's not had a single symptom since the day after the concussion and he can still remember the play before the hit and he can remember everything in the changing room after.

Makes me wonder if Miami put him on IR to protect him from himself or they did it due to the optics of his concussion on prime time. Either way it's basically screwed the season, I've no doubt Miami beats the Titans and the Colts at a minimum with Tua in the line up.

I still think there is always pressure from the NFL when Tua is the subject but tumbleweed for Allen & Mahomes - I will not believe that Allen wasn't knocked out last week and he wasn't even taken to the locker room to be evaluated

Probably the one with McDaniel joking around with Waddle and Hill? That was just before the 2nd half kick off when things still looked OK.
Hill & Waddle's persona on the sideline in multiple games this year has not been good. However, they are probably p***ed that Ingold got more targets than they did this week

Definitely and they have been half assing some routes this year as well, you can tell watching some All-22 stuff that they aren't getting separation like last season. I guess it's because they are not expecting the QB to get them the ball.

Will be interesting to see the gameplan this week if (when) Tua is back. The running game has been good the last 2 weeks, you would expect that to open up some stuff for Hill and Waddle.

Something to remember for this weekend's games - the American clocks change this Sunday whereas ours are the week after. So for this Sunday, America is only four hours behind us (do your own punchlines here). So games kick off at 5pm this Sunday not 6pm as usual.

I might know someone who ahem, missed his cue for a pre-game show a couple of years back because of this ....

The consumate professional who had to try and explain cricket on a live Vegas sports radio show recently to the regular host and former world champion boxer. About as easy a challenge as going out with Fash and Martin Young and not getting in a fight.

Our clocks go back this weekend? Have you got it round the wrong way and the US clocks don't go back until the following week?

I'll actually miss the Dolphins game this weekend as I'm going to see Sum 41 on Sunday at the Hydro in Glasgow. With the way they have been playing I'm not that bothered about missing it.
