The Aaron Rodgers docco on Netflix. Just about to watch it.

My thoughts on the guy are not positive. Good QB in his time but probably a bit of a douche. Let’s see if this changes my mind.

A friend of mine is the PR director of the Packers. They had a real party the day after Rodgers left Green Bay - he had more than worn out his welcome with everyone on and off the field there.

Big win for the Chargers over Denver last night. Harbaugh showing what an excellent coach he is to bounce back from the shellacking the Bucs put on them five days ago. And his knowledge of the situation and rules at the end of the first half to set up the free kick was superb. A very rare event in the NFL, a free kick. We had one in the 2019 London game and I had a heck of a job explaining it on the game commentary. I had not seen one since Raul Allegre back in the 80s.

Bo Nix has come a long way this season thanks to Sean Payton. It's a shame Payton is still such an arrogant ck womble. He is so disliked around the NFL and has been for years. He was like it back in the 80s when playing for the Leicester Panthers - no-one from Gridiron UK ever wanted to deal with him.

Thursday night football is an abomination that the players hate (and as for Xmas Day games next week ....) but it does give you a chance to listen to the absolute all-time best play-by-play man in Al Michaels. When he finally retires, it will be a sad day for the sport. I can totally recommend his book as a great read.

The GM shuffle podcast is now being done by former Bucs GM Mark Dominik as Michael Lombardi has ridden off into the sunset to join his old mate Belichick at North Carolina. Mark is a great guy, really insightful and funny and the podcast will not miss a beat. Highly recommended.

Denver again not being able to close out a game from a winning position, happened a few times now this season

The team have come a long way - Peyton isn’t the most liked but he has got the team moving in the right direction

A lot of talk on Denver socials about the refs and a lot of one sided calls

Most of them seems standard 50/50 calls but that first one looks to be clear PI ?

What do the more trained eyes think

The only opinion you ever take on calls/non-calls are what the former officials employed by the networks say. People like Gene Steratore, Mike Pereira. If they say it is a wrong call (and that is pretty rare) then it is. Otherwise it is nothing more than wah-wah-wah baby noises from supposed hard-done by home fans who have only a one-sided opinion and can be totally ignored. And believe me the Bucs have a few - I have to deal with them on post-game radio and TV.

Written in my best Cris Collinsworth voice.

"Ah Mike, I've got to say, this Dallas defense. They have been incredible. That was the best interception/pass rush/catch/tackle I've ever seen. They've nothing to play for but they have just been ah incredible tonight".

Dallas deserved it. Defense played well and made the plays when they had to. The Bucs didn't. But Collinsworth did break Kevin Burkhardt's record for orgasms in a game on national television.

Condolonsces to Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit for having to call that monstrosity of a Thursday night game. When the YouTube highlights are only eight minutes it tells you something and most of those were unsuccessful screen passes on 3rd and long.
Right - this Sunday - cannot believe I'm rooting for Washington to win but for them to deal with Atlanta would be very welcome.
As for the Xmas games, worst thing on Netflix since the Tyson "fight".

Xmas games and Thursday night game were all awful. Thankfully I didn't stay awake for the Thursday game but as you said, I knew it was going to be a stinker when I watched the highlights this morning and they were only 8 minutes and the first Bears "highlight" was Williams airmailing one 10 yards over a wide open Odunze.

I get it's all about money but most midweek games aren't worth watching, they are usually a crap filled penalty and mistake laden game. Just not enough time to recover and to game plan.

Broncos levelling it up with 8 seconds on the clock. Very entertaining
Bengals tried to bungle it away. Their clock management at the end was atrocious, the coach twice refused to kick field goals and came away with nothing.

I was surprised Denver didn’t try and run the clock out in OT to play for the tie. Very strange game.

Someone asked Jameis Winston who the next head coach in Cleveland should be. He said he could not choose one but he could pick six.

I'll get my coat.

I thought they prob should have gone for the 2 as well

Was strange that Nix didn’t target Sutton at all in OT

A Tie would have been enough to seal a playoff spot

Still got a great chance but maybe gotta hope that Chiefs play a lot of second stringers
