so I havent hit a ball for what feels like ages and my last round was at least 9 months back (Madadey was there so must have been a while lol)

Has equipment changed much in that time and do I need to reinvest before hitting the course?

Try over 12 months ago. It was near the start of April last year that me you and Phil played at Aylesbury with Steve. I only know this because after playing I had to go to Heathrow to pick my wife up.
