New Courses 2016

Have they got the new greens in play at Sligo yet Stephen, they were getting done when we were there in September, there old greenskeeper was a member at my club, now he's the main man at Portrush. I thought 18 was a poor finishing hole, 17 was a cracker up the hill for the second shot. Its the West of Ireland there this weekend some illustrious winners of the before. Carne looks superb I've read a lot about it thru and American writer John Garrity.

The new greens look ready Steve but weren't in play when we played last week but I think they were protecting the greens a bit for the West this week as they weren't great last week.

Liked the tee shot on 18 but it was a bit of a disappointment when got over the hill to find your ball. Yeah 17 is a cracker and into the wind as it was when we played made it an absolute brute of a hole.

I loved every one of the par 3s and I thought the stretch from 13-17 was the most enjoyable part of the round.

As when we played it ,i hit a cracking shot up there and was 20 yards short haha. My favourite out of all the courses up there is Narin & Portnoo, absolutely fantastic course and people there.

Trying to cheer myself up during this spell of horrific weather by browsing various opens that I could play at some new courses this year.

I already have North Berwick, Gullane 1, Gullane 2, Kilspindie and Dundonald booked and am looking at some opens at Crail, Boat of Garten and Machrihanish amongst others.

So what new courses are you planning to play this year?

Does gullane 1 have an open??

Off to play S&A later this morning with some genuine guys....and Podge... Then got the the Scottish trip at the end of April.. Sandwiched between these is an Open at West Lancs... nice 5 weeks...

Im the same as this fella

hang on, he's even bought mizuno irons like me

next he'll be thinking we're sharing rooms at Aberdeen.....

As well as what's on the Trump trip, a friend and I have just booked in for both Machrihanish Old and Machrihanish Dunes in mid June. Long way to drive, but there will be loads of daylight by that time. Looks spectacular.

I wouldn't worry. I'll most likely have a whole new bag of clubs by then 😂

Also, you'll much prefer sharing with me to Stuey. If you want a decent nights sleep then not even a different hotel will do the trick.

Well the next 10 days are looking dandy!

Got a round at Ladybank booked in for tomorrow, then it is up to Monifieth for a club match on Saturday and then over to Dundonald for the forum meet next Sunday.

Not a bad run of courses.

You will love it round there. Some great trips there over the years. Hope to get back round myself this summer.
