New Courses 2016

Opens entered at Scotscraig, Dunbar, Aberdour, Royal Burgess, Boat of Garten and Newtonmore and adding Glasgow Gailes to the Dundonald weekend as well as the Links Cup that I've already entered.

2016 is shaping up very nicely. :whoo:

Playing the 36 hole BOG open at the start of August and staying overnight in Newtonmore, and as they have an open the next day it would be rude not to play that too before heading home.

BOG is great, used to play it a lot, but my mate who is a member there, got in to Dornoch and now he only ever wants to plat there. newton more is OK, heathland ish for the first and last few holes, but the main bit is a sort of flat parkland course. i enjoyed it the few times ive played. first level par was there

Am doing Royal St Georges on the forthcoming meet, then nothing especially planned - except our "Scottish trip" this year will be to Cornwall so will bag a few there. Hoping for St Enodoc & Trevose, but beyond that not sure.

And before you ask, it's "the Scottish trip" because this year will be only the 4th time in about 35 years that we've not gone to Scotland.

Not many yet but confirmed ones are good:

Druids Glen (2 rounds)
Royal Portrush.
Portstewart Strand

Having a look at possibility of playing:

Carne
Ardglass
The Island

Still awaiting society schedules and that usually throws up a few as well. I am scheduled for hernia op in June/July so going to have limited opportunities during the best months :(

If you play Ardglass have the Fish and Chips when you get in.....best i have ever had anywhere!

Cruden Bay, Murcar, Trump International (Forum Meeting)
Penati (SK) with my Society
always try to Play new courses when on Holiday but as i have not yet made plan where to go ...

So far have booked:

Hellidon Lakes
Montecastillo
El Chaparral
La Quinta Golf and Country Club
La Cala Europa

then playing a load of other courses out in Spain, but played them all last year - Marbella G&CC, Torrequebrada, Calanova, the other 2 La Cala courses and Santa Clara. Should be a good year of golf!

Have just put my name down for two seniors opens at courses I have never visited before....
Littlehampton and Cowdray Park, both in Sussex.
I've heard good things about Cowdray in particular, and at the price it seemed silly not to.
£35.00 including coffee and bacon roll and a 2 course lunch afterwards.
Normal green fee is £60.00!!

Need to look at the back end of the year as its looking a bit empty.

Mariners play Cowdray Park every year Rob. Nice course especially once you get through the first four. 4th is uphill, but the view from the 5th tee makes it almost worthwhile. :mmm:

Did you see the Men's Senior Open at Princes 15th March? Their Facebook page said there were still spaces so I sent off an application Saturday.
