Mixed competitions

Ok Thanks

I think the simplest way I will do it is to give the lady 1 extra shot on her h/c.

So she will have a 4 shot advantage over the men......you must really like her!

Anything that isn't technically correct is a recipie for disharmony - and crossing your fingers that she doesn't win won't work.

If you really want a halfway house that is both close and, in a way, easy to comprehend, leave the handicapsmalone and have her play from the men's card for the calculation of stableford points. She will still technically have 1 shot more than she would in a formal mixed comp.

Men arguing against the rules---

I organised a mixed comp (singles) last year for a group of about equal numbers of each sex and got major complaints from the men when I gave all the ladies a course adjustment allowance of 5 shots on their handicaps.

None of the ladies got anywhere near the winning score and got a lot of satisfaction pointing that out afterwards.

That's probably about as confusing a contribution in this particular thread as it could be!

You gave the correct adjustment for that course and those tees and that particular group of ladies didn't fare well. I'm sure you would have had the same satisfaction if they had, and you had been able to make the point even more strongly that the handicapping was correct, and that the ladies had played better on the day than the men!
