Most 5 day members are not working ! pensioners etc! So can play 5 times a week ( not all by the way.)

Most 7 day members are working so can only play weekends ( not all ) especially in winter!

This is just like it is at my club.

There isn’t a lot of difference at my club £150 I think between 5&7 day.

Not sure if this is the same at other people's clubs but the retirees seem to always take the early weekend tee times even when they have every weekday to get out

At my club, there used to be quite a difference in the cost of membership between a 5 day & a 7 day membership.
This year, there has been a quadrupling of the % increase for the 5 day members compared to the 7 day members.
This has reduced the difference in cost between the 5 day & 7 day membership quite considerably.
There is now only £100 difference between a 5 day & a 7 day membership.
So, it's really not worth being a 5 day member anymore.
I'm not sure if they are trying to faze out the 5 day membership?
But that's the way it appears to me.

Having 5 day members helps to reduce the demand on a Saturday. If we had only 7 day members then they all couldn't all be accommodated on a Saturday. There would have to be a rota system to allow equal access to all members, therefore reducing their playing opportunities.

So, having 5 day members isn't necessarily a bad thing. Depends on the size of membership.

No.
Doesn't bother me one way or the other.
I just find it strange why my club have closed the monitory gap so significantly between the 5 day & 7 day members to virtually render it insignificant.
For the reason you state, I would have thought that a bigger difference would have been desirable.

We don't renew until 1st May so no info yet on any increases. Last year 7 day was £1,175 with 5 Day £325 less at £850. A very fair difference I'd say & several £100's below the local competitors. As a proprietary Club, they very much want to sell Society Tee-times on Sat & Sun pm's as there's not much available at the Private Clubs in N Leeds on those days. As a member, I've never had problems getting tee times as we get several weeks preference over the Public though the course does handle an enormous traffic load compared to other local courses.

As a working 7 day member, I have no issues who books what tee times and when, they have paid what I have paid and are entitled to use the course as much as I am, the fact that their life situation means they get more opportunities than I isn’t their fault.
Equally, when I find myself with a day off work for whatever reason and book a morning day time tee slot, I don’t expect them to moan that I have taken their usual Tuesday 10am tee time

Sounds reasonable......what's wrong with you? ;)

One of the main reasons I'm at one of the two clubs I'm a member at is because they block out a few times during the week so that people know they can join a group at a certain time every week....Wed 9am/open rollup, Thur 9am/senior rollup, Sun 8am/open rollup.

Waiting with baited breath for the letter to arrive in my email to see what the damage is this year. Rumours are of 5-7% but I need to see what the cost is for me with my locker costs added and then how it boils down to the monthly DD. Given the work being done on the bunkers, still with two years of work left to do them all, there isn't any rush to jump ship but it has to be cost viable and I want to read the plans for 2024 and onwards

Just got an update to ours....£850 plus £5 a round. Still not bad, but I think that might have been the last stake in the coffin for me. The 2nd club might be my only club now. I can afford both, but you can't play on the near course during the winter....and it's blocked a lot during the summer with business days/visiting groups/opens......

Rumour (being denied by a committee member when asked) is that ours are going up by 10%. When we are already paying just short of £2k the member reaction would be…interesting…🤔
