I was on the titleist website earlier and theres a how do you mark your titleist link...shows some crazy designs, it got me thinking...how do folk mark their balls for ID purposes?

5*s around the top of the brand name on the ball, double line on the side. (i tried my name in mandarin, it looked cool but took far too long, and it was a bit big!)

Also, what do you use to mark your ball on the green? I brought a few coins home from tunisia(DONT TELL ON ME PLEASE!) this year and noticed one was dated december 1988...thats my new coin of choice!

I use a quarter dollar and some foreign coin that has cyrillic writing on it. I always have both coins in my pocket so i can get to one really quickly without fart arsing about amongst all the tees and pitch mark repairer etc etc

Three red dots below the number.

For a marker, I use a $5 chip from the MGM Grand Poker room, but if it's close to someone's line, I change to a Dons marker, or one from last year's Royal Birkdale Open.

A green dot each side near the logo, no-one else seems to use green!

Current ball marker is a 1962 penny. Easy to find in pocket as it's quite big.

I'm currently putting a '+' either side of the number on my ball, with a circle line-em-up aid through the manufacturers alignment mark.

I'm using a light blue colored sharpie to do so.

Oh I forgot to say, to mark my ball on the green I use my Masters ball marker kindly given to me by GM after the 2008 masters. It is magnetic and therefore 'attaches' to my Titleist ball marker cap in between holes.

I put a triangle of three dots to the left of the number on both sides using either black (thanks to GM), blue or red sharpie depending on what colour is in my bag at the time.

I use a number of metal markers including RA ones, my Masters one (prize from GM last year), a Champ one, and several others I've amassed over the year. In there as well are a US 25c coin and an old shilling

I put a letter N under the number on the ball (first name Nev)
To mark the ball on the green I use an old ASDA parking token big and silver so I can see the bam thing.

Click the link above to see how I mark mine, and I use an identicle ball marker to the Eagle from Augusta.

usually a couple of red dots either side of the number, but had a few callaway's in the bag on sunday and decided to use the v as the mouth in a self portrait....i added spikey hair, glasses and some ears...unmistakable!

mark it on the greens using some tunisian coins as well...only worthwhile thing about that holiday!

I put a tick at the end of the brand name followed by a 1. On both sides.

For marking the ball on the green I would use either a 10p or a ball marker from the club. I've started collecting ball markers.
