Mac Book users any advice.

When I went to Normandy I took over 500 photos and a few videos. I told the lads when I get home I will drop them on a 1gb memory stick and pass them on. I have had a mare with three sticks trying to paste them. When trying to paste the
" Normandy " folder they are in , all sticks say not enough room. When there Is. I can copy them over one at a time and ave done 8. At this rate I will miss next years trip before they are copied to a stick.
Any advice on how to get them from me mac book to use memory stick greatly appreciated 👍

Upload to Flickr or Imageshack, and then send the link/password to your mates so they can download from there.

Are you 100% there is enough room? Have you tried to copy over say half of them?

Or you could use dropbox and share with your mates.

These days each pic your average digital camera takes is between 5-10 Mb in size

5mb x 500 pics =2500Mb or 2.5gb

You are going to need a bigger USB drive,

Nothing wrong with the principal, but sometimes size is everything 😎

Photo bucket or Dropbox is easier unless you want to buy a handful of 8gb USB drives

I would 100% agree on the dropbox suggestions. It's great for file sharing

I should of added earlier ( but didn't want to waffle honest ). My usb stick is 1 gb, the one I am putting them on is 8 gb. So there is plenty of room. It just ain't playing ball 🙁

Quick edit to say that I dumped a load of out of focus piccies and the file showed under 1 GB used a lot of the photos are in black and white.

What model MacBook?

If it doesn't support USB3 it takes a long time to copy 1GB.

Not sure Larmen, think what I might do is drop said stick and MacBook to bro in law whose stick it is and who will be getting the photos. His daughter is a bit of a whizz so may be able to sort it.
